If yu can't find plants, maybe you want to try growing them from seed. I have seeds.

I am not very good at growing from seeds, can they be directly sewn into the gardens now and how long will it take to grow into a full size plant? Do you have any of these seeds? Marsha

You can sow these seeds the year round in my zone 6. If you sow them now, you'll have flowering plants next year.
And yes, I do have seeds of the Centranthus ruber coccineus and the C. ruber alba.
They can be directly sown in the garden, but I prefer to sow them in containers and plant them out later.

I don't know in what USDA zone you are, but I'm mainly interested in wild plants that I can grow in my zone 6 or annuals. I like unusual plants.
Just let me know what seeds you can offer.

I am in Illinois, zone 5a. Are your seeds for centranthus ruber from last year? I have a few seeds from last year, need to check and see what I have left. As I stated before, I do not do very good woith seeds so I usually do not bother to collect them. I may be able to collect some seeds from the native Dames Rocket or spiderwort. Most of my plants for 2012 have not set seeds yet, but will have jack in the pulpits which are native later on this summer. I do not grow wildflowers as such, mostly perennials for my zone and native woodlands. Stay in touch. Marsha

Yes, the seeds are from last year, but they stay viable for many years.
I already have the Dames Rocket, Spiderwort and Jack in the pulpit.
If you send me your address, I'll send you the Centranthus seeds and later this year you can tell me what seeds you did collect from your plants.
