In the past several years, the Knock Out series of roses has enjoyed great popularity among gardeners. These roses grow well under all kinds of garden conditions, but did you know that they do well in pots too?

Well-deserved!

I hope to rescue bits and pieces of my KO Rose. If they will do OK in pots, I'll have a PLACE for them. The main reason I'm giving mine away is that it took over my best bed from wall to wall.

I am glad I found this thread. For one thing I happen to have a Pink Knockout shrub that I ordered and could not figure where to put it. I do think I container would be great!!

I still hate them. I got stuck by one last spring. It hurt for weeks. Lol.

Pull the thorn out and it won't hurt so long. LOL.

Aren't they all dangerous? I hate thorns, I would love a designer rose bush with no thorns, black-spot or Rosetta disease. I read that the David Austin roses are susceptible to disease including black-spot and Rosetta. I like the knockouts because I do not have to deal with the ugly black-spot and so far no Rosetta. But they are pretty cheap at this point. Also I ordered another Fair Child, I am thinking I will put that one in a pot too. Green Grin!

Knockouts do get the rosette disease. I've seen them with it.

I said so far I have not seen any. Besides if they are in pots you can just toss them if they get it. If they were planted out would my soil be contaminated? Pots are really looking good, these roses (KO) have gotten fairly cheap too. I might do 4 more, plus the 'Julia Child'. Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!
