The Coleus Database

Now to get input from the coleus people about the special fields...

Lynn, the special fields haven't been added yet, at least as of now. Perhaps Dave is waiting for input from "the Coleus people" (sounds like aliens, doesn't it?) to accept/modify the fields I suggested. What got done was changing all the Genus names to Plectranthus.

And I was all excited.

Lynn, so, who exactly are "The Coleus People"? Are you one of them? Are you the ONLY one of them? Can you speak to them or for them?

I don't think we got the big coleus following over here, at least they don't seem to be checking into this forum.

I will go post over in Coleus. I have a grand total of 3 baby coleus plants. I am not 'The Coleus People'.

Probably cuz they've peeked and know what a job it would be to update all the cultivars with special fields. No registry from which to pull info either.

It wouldn't be that bad is a number of people worked on it. I could go back on the ones I entered and add that info.

sorry I am a slacker... love the database changes.. leaf color, shape, habit, sun preferance.. would be my biggest search options needed.. thanks Lynn for waking me up

Looks like the Coleus people have spoken! I'll create this databox architecture early this week.

having an option to have all the coleus with red in them pull up would be wonderful .. or whatever color.. I know that could lead to a lot of shades.. so I guess don't go too crazy.. but having a habit option .. like trailers only would make my day!!!!

The list that Monica put together in an above post is more than awesome. I can hardly imagine the fun I could have making searches in the coleus, opps I mean Plectranthus database.

I agree. It's so wonderfully detailed. I wish Monica had been around when some of the other custom DBs were being designed.

Would you like to take a stab at some custom data for the Fuchsia Database, Monica? I haven't thought beyond "trailing" or "upright" yet.
