It could be Thalictrum rochebrunianum, see what flowers you get. I have it, some are misnamed as another species as mine was. It grows to a good 7 feet tall!

WOW those blooms are beautiful but its too tall for where it is. I bought it at a gardeners garage sale.

It doesn't hog space, it will nicely make a statement amongst shorter plants. I haven't got a shot of the whole plant, only flowers, it's between Camellia shrubs. They waft about in the wind, quite a beautiful plant. Best wait to see the flowers to be sure but it looks like it's going to be tall.

I looked it up on Google and Daves PF.
It really is charming and I agree with you It might work where its planted. Its in front of some iris but emerges after iris are bloomed,lilies are in there too but the thalic blooms are so inconspicuous it wont matter.
