Found this odd and dead thing by our common area alleyway...looks like some kind of lizard..poor thing...
At first glance, I thought it was a young snake..closer look shows it was some type of shiny scaled lizard.

Hahah..strange in water will be not much water to talk about being no rain here as always. Dry sunshiny weather for about two months now I am in San Joaquin County in California
The lizards here are mostly dull colors. Last year the local lizards were wiped out in the drought (again). So we don't have any larger lizards, just smaller ones. The large species only have juvenile ones this year that are smaller than the adults. Maybe next year they'll be large.
I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority. E. B.White
