I am thinking of starting a spreadsheet tracking the color changes by month of the semps I have.

Has anyone seen one that has already been done anywhere for reference?

I know this would be quite a variable thing, as location plays a key role in these changes.

This is a very good idea Janice. Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! I look forward to seeing photos of different color changes each month.

You can see the dates with the photos in the database. That would show coloring in different parts of the country and world.

We do need to refine the way the colors are listed in the database, so we can search for color and color by season. What do you think?

I agree, Lynn. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

I was thinking that the actual color changes may be a very location specific thing.

The photos on the database will help to refine this, and hopefully generalities may emerge.

Have you seen anything in the literature about the color changes in specific varieties?

No, all of that type of information is so limited. They might say 'Nice red semp', or 'Holds color'.
I've bought semps that are listed with attributes like that only to find that 'Holds color' does not mean it will hold that same red color through out the year.

Lets put our heads together in this thread and discuss how this could work best in our database. When we think we have the best of all the ideas we can submit it to Dave for programming. Hurray!

Just to get things rolling. : )

Just giving us time to think if there is anything else that should be added to this category?
