My pot ghetto is almost gone! I have a few more winter sown things, 2 Clematis, an Agastache I rooted, some Liatris, a Blue Moon Wisteria, 5 Heleniums I rooted, a few Red Hot Pokers. Oh my. The pot ghetto is worse than I thought! Rolling on the floor laughing

How is your pot ghetto shaping up?

Mine too, Clint. I waited long enough. Then I fell a couple of weeks ago, hurt my hand. Can't dig. So my husband couldn't stand the milk jugs on the deck any longer so he planted several for me yesterday- lobelia cardinalis, helenium, penstemon. The only jug left on my deck are hardy sempervivums. If I plant them into beds at this small stage, they'll disappear, I'm sure.

Though the hardy semps were among my first sprouts, they're still tiny.

Well most things out of the greenhouse and on the cooler shelves
only 8 wintersown pots to go
another 30+ homeless plants to find a place for on the north side shelves.
and yes I too am still starting seeds I just found - 4 flats

My goal date is always July 1st because we go away for several days and I don't want to pay someone to water
..a balanced life is worth pursuit.

Your pot ghetto looks ever so much tidier than mine! And mine are either drowning in the rain we're having or drying up and trying to die where I have them sheltered from the rain! Just can't win! Rolling my eyes. Hilarious!

Susan - Love the neat pot ghetto. I'm thinking of using whiskey barrels and putting the plants in there so they look planted. LOL.

Yes, the pot ghetto is kinda nice, except some of the pots dry out real fast and it's a constant job watering them, today's pot ghetto is tomorrows garden! Or next months garden in my case. Hilarious! Hilarious!

I can't keep up to the constant watering, and I don't want to either.

I plant out my wintersown stuff asap in spring. Plunk and run mode takes over, wherever there's a spot in a bed. Seedlings get transplanted as soon as they're big enough for me to handle- like a set or two of true leaves. In the spring weather, the rain takes care of watering, and the cool weather lets them establish easily. Once the hot weather is here, they need constant watering, protection from hot sun. It's a pain. Long term survival of my seedlings is absolutely best if planted in April or early May.
