I finally added some other rocks around my shoe/clog and created a mini rock garden with many of the lovely plants you sent me in the box of precious starts. Hope this will last. I put down regular MG potting soil and then added cactus soil on top of that to fill some of the crevices and give the plants a place to nest.

Do I need to add pebbles to the top? That would help keep the soil in place I think. God sent a few drops of rain to welcome the new plantings this afternoon.

You have really been busy. Some pea gravel or chicken grit would be really nice. It would help to provide more protection for the newly developing roots. : )

Since I can only move a few stones at the time, it has taken me several days to put it together, however I will be adding more rocks around it too.

I have the pea gravel. Will try to find the chicken grit. I know that is a source of nutrients for the pants. Think there is a store in Castle Rock that sells farm supplies.

Chicken grit is found at feed stores, at least the good ones. I buy it for my chickens.

I looked at a couple of nurseries for it.. I brought home some gypsum, don't remember what I thought that was for??????

I am going to have an assortment of chemical stuff out there with the plant stuff, the hypertufa stuff and the paint etc for the foam boxes. I have to find a way to store it all on that small area. Hilarious! Hilarious! Guess will have to get orgainized.. after all these years that will be the day..... nodding

Is that on Main Street Audrie? Don't know which would be closer to me Castle Rock or out in Parker. I was out there yesterday... if only I had known I should really have it.....Oh well, I love getting out and about and am in both places fairly frequently. Thanks for the info.

Had to go out to Home Goods at Arap and Parker so I ran over to Murdock's. They were out of grit, but they sent me down the street to Parker Feed and I am now well supplied. Have sprinkled everything.. Hurray! Hurray! . Now just to watch those babies grow. Patience is not my long suit. nodding

I must do a search on the site for a nutritional plan for them. I wonder if it is a one size fits all or if you have to specialize?? Shrug!

I don't fertilize at all. I wouldn't think you would have to feed them either. They are like your other perennial or annual plants. Thumbs up
Can't wait to see new photos. Hurray!

Well I generally feed my other plants about once a month or so on liquid MG. Maybe that is why they expire in August. Could I be stressing them by feeding them in the heat?

That I don't know about. But your local nursery could answer that question about keeping your annuals and perennials going to the end of growing season.
But the succulents don't need it.
