That's a nice bloom, Mike but nothing that rings a bell.

Thanks Hetty, you are amazing! I tip my hat to you. I really appreciate the time and information you give here for everyone .. I would be happy to send a cutting of this if you would like ... or any other cultivar from my humble collection as a small thank you..

I stay confused on the names!! Rolling on the floor laughing Ive learned to google a name and hit IMAGES and if not a single plumeria photo pops up..I know that is not a good sign... Hilarious!
My knowledge is growing and here at my house we are in full fledged plumeria fever... we order three or four new cultivars every week or so and we try to be more aware exactly what we are getting and keeping a better record of it...

Robert - you are welcome.... drop me a tree mail with names of plumeria you are looking for, I am doing a bit of trimming at the moment Big Grin

If you do a google image search put the word plumeria in it, then you have a better chance of getting a good return.

You are most kind to offer me a cutting, and maybe we can work a trade... Whistling

hetty is it a good time to trim now or does it not matter as long as you are smart with the cuts and if your going to root take with old wood also?

thanks

The time for trimming is still ok, Mike. As soon as we get the real summer rains the plants will put on a lot of new growth and that is not really the best time, unless you can take cuttings that still have grey wood. The green ones will be the most likely to rot on you.
Unfortunately a lot of people want their trees trimmed in August/September, and I still do it, but you just have to count on a lot more loss then.

I have never sealed any cut on the plumeria trees, never had a problem.

I did the big no no and spent 85.00 on a plumeria today... It was raining so we decided to ride up to Seffner and Exotic Plumeria to see the Kapalua orange they have up there. (Hetty If you have an orange ..... Big Grin ) I have been wanting this for some time but their prices there are outlandish. When we got there... they are health problems with the Kapalua cuttings... and even though some looked OK it is apparent that they can look like they are thriving but rot from within so I shied away from the 89.00 plus 35 dollars per tip plant. I did however fall in love with its neighbor, Embers from Maui. Hetty I upload one of the pics to the database then realized the database was for Hot Embers don't think that is the same so... no acorn for me there Rolling on the floor laughing ..

I only have one plumeria, the one that is very common to where I live (velo de novia/bridal bouquet?).

I love that it blooms constantly, but now I want colors, colors, colors! Smiling

For those who are familiar with S. Florida, can you share the best nurseries to find plumerias?
