This is a real trooper. I brought it at one of those discount stores in a body bag. Because I was house hunting I knew I was coming with me.

I planted it in a styrofoam box that I received from Omaha Steak. I did not find a house as fast as I thought I would so it was in it styrofoam box for 2 years.

I found a house but I am working on developing many gardens and setting them up so it now has been in its box now for 5 years. I have taken a rose out of a body bag and planted it in a styrofoam coffin and it seems to love the treatment. Rolling on the floor laughing

Cool!
There's an entire thread dedicated to using styrofoam boxes as planters over in the containers forum.

HAHAHAH!! That's classic! I love it! I can see where styrofoam (TM) would make a great planter box!.. won't decay fast, sweats in the heat, basically just like a greenhouse upside down! I love it! I have to go over to the Styrofoam post. I have been growing so many of my plants in them. After I decorate with rocks, gravel, even paint. They work so good in my climate to keep temps steady even in winter.

I tried to post a pic of the rose but it is not accepting pics. I will update the pics when the photo function returns. Let me try again.

I agree - they work great. some folks carve and paint theirs. I get medication in large styrofoam boxes every three months so I have a surplus. I carve them, rough them up and paint them to look like stone or mock hypertufa as best I can.
