How would you like to have a beautiful living picture in your garden or mounted on a wall outside of your home? It's a quick and easy project that you can do with just a few tools.
Chris: What a wonderful idea ... absolutely gorgeous! I've got to try this project! I can picture maybe three different sizes of plant frames hanging on the side wall of my deck!

I never thought of doing a small one like this! All the ones I've seen have been very large, but this looks quite do-able! And it turned out so beautifully! Really lovely! Like painting with plants.
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.
Thank you so much. It really is an easy project that can be done in just a few hours. I'll try to post an updated picture later today - it's really filled in nice now.
For me it's a lot easier to follow instructions if I can see what's going on rather than just read about it. I hope lots of people try it. I'd love to see some photos of living pictures using plants other than sempervivum too.
What a great tutorial! Very nicely done! I would also mention that you can do the same sort of thing using pallets, or in my case, an old shutter. LOVE the vertical gardens!
I've had two old shutters out in the shed for 25+ years and ever since I saw someones (maybe Brenda's?) photo's, I've wanted to go find them and try planting them up!! I just need to DO IT!
