I did not plant this and have never seen anything like it. It is in the middle of some portulaca, is it a weed? Thank you.

I looked it up to see if it has any redeeming qualities. Found this on Wikipedia: They are edible and have been used in salads (although they may become bitter by the time the plant blooms) and to make herbal tea. Pineapple weed has been used for medicinal purposes, including for relief of gastrointestinal upset, infected sores, fevers, and postpartum anemia.

I'll add a comment to the plant files.

The flowers never get particularly showy, but the leaves have a nice sweet smell when you crush them. It's not a bad plant to have around, at least not compared to many other annuals that volunteer in gardens.

I just went out to crush some of it...yup nice scent...and flavor is okay too. I'll let it run its course but remove it before it can go to seed.

We have that stuff all over here. I pretty much ignore it; it looks kind of pretty and smells good and we have much nastier weeds to worry about!

It seems to want to grow in the rock driveways where ever I have lived , I agree it is not an unpleasant weed so I just let it be.
It has never shown up in one of my gardens Shrug!
