So I left my Coelogyne ochracea at the Amherst OS meeting. I wrote to Marc Gray hoping he packed up and had it and sure enough he did. I desperately missed it's scent so I arranged to go up today to pick it up. Marc has a greenhouse in Williamsville at his dad's, a little way up from Patti's (bbrookrd) VT home. Here he was doing a major repotting. He showed me around the land and all the wildflowers. And his rainbow trout and primulas. Plus his interesting orchid collection. His father is in a few pics.

This last one, Maxillaria cucullata, was in need of repotting so I got a big chunk as a gift! Perfect timing! I did in a Max. at home today.

After I left Marc's with Maxillaria and my Coelogyne in hand, I dropped by the Newfane Greenhouse and bought a tiny flowered cypripedium.

I was crazy to ID it so after I planted it in the shade garden, I walked over to my neighbor's house, Peter, who grows Cyps from seeds and has a mail order business. http://www.hillsidenursery.biz...
He showed me his huge collection of species and hybrid Cyps., some of which he sells.

Looks like you had a ball yesterday! Mark Gray's place is a charmer. The third plant looks like a Blue Bead Lily? ( Clintonia borealis)
The Cymbidium is a sweetie! Smiling You didn't have a chance.
One could get palpitations looking at the gorgeous Cyps, oh my! I want them ALL. Pretty peonies too.
