I bought 'Gemini Moon' in 2008, I think. In 2009, I noticed two little plants at the side of it - similar colouring but different size and very different width margin.

In 2011, I separated them.

I've concluded that there was something else mixed in with GM when I bought it. But what? Guesses so far are possibly one of the Tiaras. But what do you think?First pic in 2009 Thumb of 2012-06-12/ViolaAnn/540a99

Early 2010 - the two small plants were unfurled long before GM Thumb of 2012-06-12/ViolaAnn/bdece8

OK looking at myhostas.be, it lists a whole slew of "tiara" hostas. And that doesn't include ones that don't have "tiara" in the name like 'Grand Prize', 'Teaspoon' etc.

Amber Tiara Walters Gardens 1998 'Grand Tiara' sport
The all gold form of H. 'Grand Tiara', believed to be a tetraploid and has very thick leaves, spring color is quite bright; lots of large purple and white striped flowers in mid summer. http://hostalibrary.org/a/ambe...

Crystal Tiara Walters Gardens 1998 'Grand Tiara' sport
STILL EXTREMELY RARE sport of Grand Tiara with clean white center and very wide bright yellow margin that becomes two tone as the older foliage becomes more chartreuse. Not a super fast grower, but very heavy substance. Another one showing great contrast with the dark purple flowers.
http://hostalibrary.org/c/crys...

Diamond Tiara T & Z Nursery/Mark Zilis 1985 'Golden Tiara' sport
Narrow white edge on medium green leaves. Dark lavender flowers in late June. A small green with white margins.
http://hostalibrary.org/d/diam...

Emerald Tiara Walters Gardens 1988 'Golden Scepter' sport
This reverse mutation of H. 'Golden Tiara' boasts the same round leaves, but with gold centers and a nice green edge. This vigorous clumper to 2' wide sports hundreds of dark lavender flowers in summer... nice! http://hostalibrary.org/e/emer...

Flame Tiara J. Van Ostrand/P. Postlewaite 2004 'Amber Tiara' sport
3 color medio-variegated. no picture in Hosta Library

Flemish Tiara Danny Van Eechaute NO INFO AVAILABLE on myhostas.be http://hostalibrary.org/f/flem... (the page says, 'Fair Maiden' - a mistake, but the pics are there).

Floral Tiara
Similar to 'Golden Tiara'. Flowers twice the size, no picture in Hosta Library

Ghost Tiara Bill Meyer NO INFO AVAILABLE on myhostas.be http://hostalibrary.org/g/ghos...

Gilded Tiara Walters Gardens 1998 'Grand Tiara' sport
TC sport - not other info available http://hostalibrary.org/g/gild...

Glen Tiara Viktoria Serafin 2003 'Golden Tiara' sport
a sport of 'Golden Tiara'. It was found at Glenbrook Farm several years ago, and is not available anywhere else. It has proven to be completely stable and, like all Tiaras, an excellent grower. The gold edges widen as the plant matures. The leaves are slightly larger and rounder than those of 'Golden Tiara'. Despite superficial similarity to 'Grand Tiara', it is distinctly different. http://hostalibrary.org/g/glen...

Golden Tiara Bob Savory 1977 nakaiana seedling
Heart-shaped, green leaves with a wide, golden margin. http://hostalibrary.org/g/gold... [MINE MIGHT BE THIS}

Grand Tiara Ali Pollock 1991 'Golden Tiara' sport
A sport of 'Golden Tiara', the leaf is larger and seems to have more substance. The gold margin is much wider, giving the effect of a golden yellow leaf with a center splash of green. The width of the margin is variable with exposure and season.

Heavenly Tiara Walters Gardens 1998 'Grand Tiara' sport
The wide white halo margin stays clean all season while the center can pick up the two tone color as the young leaves are a very bright yellow and the older leaves become more chartreuse. http://hostalibrary.org/g/gran...

Ivory Tiara Bill Meyer 'Grand Tiara' sport NO INFO AVAILABLE on myhostas.be http://hostalibrary.org/i/ivor... [I think I'd like one of these].

Jade Tiara Mark R. Zilis or Walters Gardens? 'Golden Tiara' sport NO INFO AVAILABLE on myhostas.be no picture in Hosta Library

Lime Tiara Jim Hawes 'Emerald Scepter' sport
Gorgeous lime-green sport of 'Emerald Scepter'. Lost? no picture in Hosta Library

Margaret Mary Tiara D. Hovekamp 2001 'Diamond Tiara' sport NO INFO AVAILABLE on myhostas.be no picture in Hosta Library

Opal Tiara Bill Meyer 'Golden Scepter' sport NO INFO AVAILABLE on myhostas.be no picture in Hosta Library

Pearl Tiara Bill Meyer 'Diamond Tiara' sport
Has a much wider white margin and remains smaller than it's parent. http://hostalibrary.org/p/pear...

Platinum Tiara Walters Gardens 1987 'Golden Scepter' sport
The small, roundish leaf is a pale green gold with a white edge and some light streaking throughout. http://hostalibrary.org/p/plat...

Ribbon Tiara Bill Meyer 'Golden Tiara' sport
This highly unusual 'Golden Tiara' sport features a narrow stripe of green down the middle of each leaf. This odd pattern is the result of a chance mutation in which the green tissue now grows much more slowly than the gold. Very unusual, with the same coloration as its parent. A bit slower growing than most other Tiaras. http://hostalibrary.org/r/ribb...

Royal Tiara T&Z Nursery/Mark Zilis 1988 unknown
The most unusual of all the "Tiaras" known for its very odd, gnarled, white-centered foliage; becoming increasingly popular for its strange habits; http://hostalibrary.org/r/roya...

Russian Tiara NO INFO AVAILABLE on myhostas.be http://hostalibrary.org/r/russ...

Silver Tiara Walters Gardens 1988 'Golden Scepter' sport
'Silver Tiara' was a white-centered form that existed long enough at Walters to get a name, but did not survive the move out into the gardens of the real world. If there are any left, I'd be surprised. no picture in Hosta Library

Streaked Tiara T&Z/Walters 'Golden Tiara' sport No longer exists. no picture in Hosta Library

Sunny Tiara R. Flink/Savory's Garden 2006 'Golden Tiara' sport NO INFO AVAILABLE on myhostas.be no picture in Hosta Library

Topaz Tiara Walters Gardens 1998 'Grand Tiara' sport
the rarest of the Walters Tiaras, having the same coloration as H. 'Emerald Tiara' with heavier substance. http://hostalibrary.org/t/topa...

yellow-ish margins and a nice deep green,
not thick, but are not ever bothered by slugs.

Well considering emini Moon comes from Abiqua Moonbeam -- it will be interesting to see if this is reverting back to it's parent -- but will have to see. Now I am going to go look at my Gemini Moon to see if I see any "little friends"!! Blinking

I have Golden Tiara, at home and in Wisc - where the NOid is... this one is much smaller.

We bought this place 6 yrs ago, it has multiplied, but never gotten any larger leaf-wise in 6 yrs.
