Kathy, glad to see you put a beginner's link. I am swamped with things to do, as you are, I'm sure. Here's a photo from the Agricultural Fair last weekend. I wonder how many of these went to 'newbies'? and those red ribbons! wow.

I'd like to have one or two Antelope Dendrobiums. Th only online place I found had a few starting at $150, which is wayyy over my budget. Do they all cost so much?
Fuchs has Den. tangerinum and Den. violaceoflavens as good sized seedlings. http://www.rforchids.com/welco.... I got them both while there, this past November. All their Dens. looked terrific. They grow them well.
Just got a beautiful Cym Sweetheart Elegance and it is in full bloom. Wish I had my broken camera...will be getting one soon. Came from Seattle Orchids and so far the best mail order orchid I have received.

Some are giant!! With giant flowers. Yours is one of the smallest. An ultra-mini. And they are hard to find. I like the ultras best because I can fit them. I also have minis, but the foliage is big and the flowers are small.
I have 5 orchids that have been in bloom since November.
I am very surprised that they remain beautiful for so many months.
They are Catts and Phals and a Paph.
Is that how long orchids bloom?

They do at your house!
All kidding aside. There are orchids that last a day and orchids that last for months. The most popular are the ones that bloom a long time!
