I have submitted several pics to the rose database but I realize that unless you go to those specific roses many of you would be missing out on wonderful roses totally worth having it... So here goes my roses this year.

It has been a really great year for several roses. We had a mild winter in MA so they did not suffer any dye back, they were not protected with old leaves or mulch so their base were always visible and no voles caused any damage around them! Thank God for that! I lost 18 roses last year and horrible damage on some others that are recovering nicely this year.

My roses got tons of Milorganite, Osmocote & Bone meal ( I had those things in hand and since money is short this year - I am still not working! I used all I had around and I confess it was the best I ever had... I am totally sold on Milorganite... love the thing!)

So here they go, no particular order etc... and tons of repeats... Just can't help it loving them...

Disclaimer:
I am NOT a rose expert. When I say that a certain rose is "totally worth having it" its just my opinion for sure... I love certain colors more than others, again it's just my opinion. My zone is 6a so my roses needs to be hardy...

My favorite nursery is Palatine - I absolutely love their bare roots, love their customer service, and for me they are worth the price. I have had some of their roses that did not do well for me... but I take responsibility for maybe planting them not deep enough and having a vole problem... other than that I have a big mouth and will not shut up about Palatine!!!

If and when I buy a rose at Home Depot, Lowes or at a local nursery I treat them as annuals...

Hyb teas are not my favorite roses at all because they just don't do well for me... I have only one Hyb Tea (Victor Borge) which I love but its not worth having because it's just does not give me tons of blooms the way I love it... again my opinion... my circumstances... maybe if I lived someplace else I would have tons of those...

My pics are not professional pics... my camera is a Lumix - I don't really re-touch the pic. I love really close shots, My camera tends to wash the colors a bit so when I download my pics I use Picasa and just have to fix adding a bit of "shadow" so I try to take out the glare that sometimes happens. But otherwise I just take pics and don't do anything. I take way too many pics everyday!

So I hope you enjoy...
Here we go...

Polareis - gorgeus Rugosa - totally worth having it... smells divine...

Floral Fairy Tale - another gorgeous rose from Palatine - totally worth having it... smells beautiful, it's a shrub but needs some support because the roses are nice and big

Caramel Fairy Tale - love it so much I have 3... can't help it! its a gorgeous rose from bud to fully open... lasts long, really big, pretty ... totally worth having it... long canes, that needed a bit of support because of the torrential rain we had... but if one is growing among taller plants and is doing well...

Variegata di Bologna - I fell in love with this rose in 2008... it's a once bloomer - love it... the roses are small, they smell so great - like a fruit I used to eat when I was a child so I add to salads ... it's absolutely amazingly fragrant... this year my plant is suffering - not blooming anywhere close to 2010... vole damage... I am watching this one close...

I will add some more pics of Variegata later...it's on a separate drive...
