I have Persicaria 'Red Dragon" and am thinking about getting some others like 'Golden Arrows' and 'Painter's Palate'. Which varieties have you grown and recommend?
Name: Susan Virginia (Zone 8a) God is the only thing that matters.
The 'Red Dragon' is sterile, but other forms of Persicaria are very invasive. Golden Arrow and Firetail seem to be alright though, not aggressive.
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Mat.6:28-29

No, I did see it somewhere though. I think it's bushy.

Thanks! I really want that one. I think I'll get it next year. I have to make a new flower bed for it and don't want to increase the pot ghetto right now!
Awesome. That would be great. I could trade something for it. I have some things in my plant list. If one can be propagated that you want, we could trade. You probably already have 'Red Dragon'.
Springcolor do you have a pic of your painter' pallet. The one I have seeds a lot but if you do not want it to seed you just have to cut the flower stalk which is not all that pretty.
That is strange. It gets a long stem with really is not flowers but little red balls on the stem. Sort of like a Coral Bell and I get tons of babies. Some are just green with a purple cheveron and some with the red/white/yellow coloring.
