Margaret, I've had horrible luck getting the right plant from those boxes, and I've got oodles of ugly plants to show for it. I'll never figure out the name of them either as most of them are so ugly that I can't even decide what color they are! Is icky a color? haha! The last box I bought about three or four ago was supposed to be two different daylilies, but again, I got the wrong one. This time though, when they bloomed, they were all Crimson Pirate, which I love! I've promised myself that I'll never waste money on them again, no matter how pretty the picture is! At least yours is really pretty, even if it's not the right one.

Betty, I think Rocket City has a perfect name! It shoots up like a rocket! It's the tallest one I have, other than the ditchlilies, which seem to have outdone themselves in the height department this year. I'm usually not a fan of orange, but Rocket City really stands out! I wish I could figure out how to get it's height on some of my shorter ones. It's also had better blooms on it than any other daylily in my garden this year, so it's getting a lot of attention from me!

Here's another set of twins on Always Afternoon. This one keeps getting prettier with each bloom! The color is much better than it was a week ago too, which makes me very happy!

Thanks Margaret! I even got the color to show up correctly in the picture! I figured if I pushed enough buttons on my camera, something would work Smiling

Thanks Cindy! I'm so excited today! It's so nice to be getting some beautiful blooms after all the ugly ones that I've had!

I thought in honor of the 4th of July, I'd make some homemade ice cream! It's delicious, and I'll never buy store bought ice cream again! Made 2 batches of banana, 1 batch of root beer, and a batch of caramel yesterday. Today, it's a double batch of root beer (word got out to the neighbors, and they were standing outside begging for some), and now it's plain vanilla. Next up is mint chocolate chip! At least I'm having fun! I'll eat some for all of you! Well, except the root beer. That one will have to be eaten by someone else. I can't even stand the smell of root beer!

Thanks Margaret! Wild Horses bloomed for the first time 2 days ago, and I was horrified at how awful it looked! It didn't bloom last year, so I was really looking forward to seeing it this year. I'm just glad that the second bloom was a beauty! I don't know what it is about this flower, but I totally love it!

Christine, ice cream for breakfast is perfect! I made Banana ice cream just for that! I figured that it's got to be good if it's got fruit in it, so there was no guilt!

As for the rest of you crazies wanting Root beer ice cream, I just don't understand that! I hate root beer! My first job when I was a kid was at an A & W, and the smell makes me gag! It seems to be the favorite in the neighborhood though! I've made a gallon of it in the last two days and it's gone! I think the batch of vanilla that I made yesterday was my favorite. Now I want to make Cheesecake Ice cream!

It's a nice cloudy day, so I went outside and flung some pollen around! I hope with it being a little cooler and not so sunny, I'll have good luck getting seeds!
