Dave, maybe there should be an option to select a season the photo could be used? The ability to check more than one would be good. I have uploaded a couple that would make more sense for fall and winter time.

Angie: What a great tutorial with those step by step instructions! I have a Mac so unfortunately it won't work for me. Sad Hopefully someone will come along sometime and make a tutorial for the technically challenged Mac users, like me. *Blush*

Lin, I am a Mac user, and have made several banners. I sent you a tree mail.

Juli, would you be willing to post a step-by-step tutorial on how to do it on a Mac? Just start a new thread and title it something like, "Making a Banner on a Mac Tutorial." I know there are lots of Mac users out there that would appreciate it, and Dave would probably link to it on the banner forum, too!

It would depend so much on the software the peron has. I use Aperture, which is a photo program. I could probably help one one figure it out though, depending if I have that software.

BookerC1 said:A couple of other notes. In a tree-mail, Dave mentioned that 1400 or wider is ideal; 1200 is the minimum. I found that really helpful, and will aim to keep most of them 1500 x 150 after this.

Also, the box for entering a title doesn't limit you, but only the first 20 characters (including spaces) will be submitted. It cut off the ends of most of my earlier titles. Keep the title short and sweet, and add more detail in the "Additional Comments" box.

Maybe this can be added to the first post somewhere so that all the tweaks and edits are all in one post. Green Grin!

Sue, I had already gone back and added the information that 1400 or wider was the ideal in the first post. I did just go back and update the part about the title now accepting up to 50 characters. Thanks, Dave! I had a hard time even getting the full name of the plant in 20 characters! Thumbs up

After I posted it, I wondered how many people would even use that method, rather than the method in the original post. I thought about including it with the original method, but didn't want to confuse people who were just figuring out how to do the basic part. Do you think I ought to add it at the bottom, as a second option? Trying to stick by the KISS (keep it simple, stupid) rule of thumb.

I can't figure this out. I am glad you have 100's of banner entries to go through. I think it will take me that long to figure it out! For one, I can't find Windows Picture Maker or whatever it's called.

Cheryl, if you have some hi-res photos that you think would make a good banner, feel free to email them to me at [email protected] and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks, Dave. I might do that before the summer flowers leave us.
