Thanks Margaret. Some of these will serve as bridge plants, as they have
a long way to go for edges, or other differently noticeable traits. Being of large size,
they stand out in the garden though. Nothing unique in this years' crop, but may add some
helpful genes in a long cross.

Shirlee, I'm just plum speechless! All of your named ones are stunning. Your seedlings are amazing. No way can I pick a favorite. I do have a question about Written on the Wind. Have you set a seed pod on it? Is this the first year for it in your garden. How well is it performing for you?

I love this plant but It has grown in the foliage on every bloom for me. It will not set a seed pod and the pollen is ify.
I just got mine late last fall, so I'm hoping it will grow into a good plant next year.

Shirlee I thought the edge on Darla Anita x Victorian Lace was very nice, it was wide and well ruffled.

Mona, yes, I have set pods on Written on the Wind. Have some now. This year it is blooming low in the
foliage, as many of them are. Seems to be weather related. This is the 3rd year here. The clump
is huge, about three feet across. Also, the pollen is fertile. Some years, I have a problem with
fertility with plants, and think oh well, not good, and then the next year, they work just fine.

Some years pods set on plants that are registered as not pod fertile. Go figure.

Thank you so much for your gracious comments.

Nice of you to say so Margaret. It has a green edge, but doesn't show up much
in this photo. Sometimes the edge is at least an inch wide. Oh, how I need
rainwater for these to perform as they should.

I love reading your comments, gals. Makes my day. Love questions too.
Any plants that you see, and wish to know how they perform, just ask
away. I enjoy talking daylilies. I have used very little fertilize on them
this year due to lack of water. Thought that might be too much stress.

Gorgeous seedlings Shirlee!!! I have had that happen with plants too. One year they won't set pods, next year they do. I have an older plant called Boagie that has never ever set a pod for me. This year I have set 2 on it so far. Go figure.

I ended up with one pod on my WRITTEN ON THE WIND too. And unfortunately we left town for two weeks at just the wrong time for my daylilies and just about everything finished up without me! Thumbs down But at least I have one pod...

Once again, your seedlings and registered daylily blooms are to die for, Shirlee!

Betty, If you need some seeds, I'm quite sure I'll have plenty left over later on this fall. Keep it in mind and then remind me and I'll treemail you have I have left. I'll gladly send you some for postage. This will probably be in October before I know how everything turns out.

Thank you very much, Betty. We all must really love these plants
to work so hard with them, and here I thought they were the most
care free of anything.

Now, the weather guessers, as Fred calls them, is forecasting
a heat wave. No way I'm getting out with a hose to water in a
heat wave. I gotta get a better way to water. This is draining me
in the heat we already have, low to mid 90's.

Mona, I am wishing that I had them all in pots as you do instead
of planting them in the ground. I have a few new ones in pots, and
they are much easier to care for. Of course, they wouldn't be if I had
them all in pots as you do. But at least you can move yours into
the shade for awhile if need be.

Thanks Leslie and Dot for your very nice comments. I'm way, way behind also.

Rita, thank you so much. I do enjoy the gardens, but with all the dry
conditions and other things, it is beginning to feel like all work and
no play. I mostly go in a run to get to everything. With the construction
noise, I haven't been getting enough sleep. They start very early to beat the heat.
So today I had to take a break. I hardly ever take a nap during the day, but today I did.
Feel much better now.
