I've got ugly blooms (I call them Ugs) and will post them when I get back to Wisconsin early next week. I am blaming the icky earwigs, who have been working in conjunction with the thrips this year ~Jan

Jan, I'm so sorry to hear you've got bug problems! I wish I had something solid to blame my blooms on, but I'm not sure what it is other than the weather. We had a really dry winter, and haven't had rain in ages. I've been watering regularly, but the heat isn't helping much either. We're way above normal. I've even got tall garden phlox blooming, which never happens this early in the year. I never get any blooms on those until closer to the end of summer. So, everything is out of whack here, including my blooms! I did get some perfect daylily blooms today though, so I'll post pictures later!

Here is the only bug I seem to be having a problem with this year, but I've never seen one on my daylilies. Luckily for them, because I'd have to break out the napalm!

Sue Rothbauer usually looks stunning, but it was a little on the small and crooked side this morning! I really love this daylily!

I was going to post this on the Polys R Us thread started by Leslie, but it was ugly, so I thought I should stick it here instead!

I had so many ugly blooms this year that I didn't take photos. Maybe because of the lack of winter (4 days) and the really early hot spells. Dunno..... Crying Next year will be better Whistling

Mich, I normally don't take pictures of the ugly ones either, but until today, that's about all I had! Since the ugly ones crack me up, I thought I'd photograph them too, and I'm having fun!

Yeah, I should have thought about posting here. I had a few pretty ones, mostly in more shaded areas. I'm moving most of my plants into big pots so I can move them around next year. Glad you are having fun with the uglies. I have a dog who went through the uglies when she was a puppy who turned out to be gorgeous...... the flowers will do that too. Hurray!

Mich, I usually have the prettiest blooms on the daylilies that are in a lot more shade, but this year has been the opposite of normal! The ones in the sun are cooking, but have looked much better!

We have a Golden Retriever who has always been beautiful, both inside and out! Then we got a Lab, and I thought she was a little on the ugly side! She really wasn't ugly, but she's been such a complete pain in the rear that it's been hard to like her most days! She's getting prettier all the time as she ages though. She'll be 2 in October, so I'm hoping by then that I'll think she's beautiful too. I'm just hoping to locate her off switch by then. I think her's may be missing! Sticking tongue out

I really should have made pictures of some of mine this Spring. Lots worse than the purple above. I didn't have the heart to show them. I've had a few this week with the heat being a raging inferno. A few were so small that I didn't realize they were blooms. I thought they were left overs from precious days but they were that days blooms. Really nasty!!
