The plant was in total shade and I never dreamed it would rebloom. It's really a lot better than it shows but one reason I was so happy was my camera actually got the color right. Reds can be a real challenge to get the right hues. This bloom is right on. I call this color red Chinese Red. It's one of my most favorite colors. As if I don't love em all, just ask Michele, she knows I love everything. Whistling Whistling I'm going to have to leave Michele alone, she might get her feelings hurt. Big Grin

I really am amazed these plants have bloomed and then rebloomed after being in so much shade. I've got to get these good ones pulled out into enough sun to set some blooms for next year. I grow most of my plants in about 6 hours of sun once the trees leaf out in the spring. They get really good sun from about October through mid April, then it is just dappled shade in most spots but these red babies have had total shade since April. So, another thing added to my to do list.

I've been really bad today. I did about 100 crosses and then took my photos and then I've stayed in with my backside firmly attached to my recliner since about 11am. I have enjoyed it so much. I can't do this very often but it's been nice today. That's the reason I had time to get my photo's labeled and loaded today. I did get a quick meal for DH, he's ate so many sandwiches that he about frowns when I ask what kind he wants! Big Grin Of course, that's better than when I tell him to fix his own!

Wow - ELIZABETH SALTER X UNKNOWN - it seems so rare to see such lush tropical blend of colors; sweet! And, the form of LORD OF THE STORM X CIMARRON ROSE is too amazing - does it regularly have such a graceful layback of the petals? I'm mezmerized! Love it! Lovey dubby

Tina, I looked back in my photos from 2010, 2011 and earlier this Spring and yes, this one has this habit of laying the petals back. Some don't get as "graceful" as this one is but they still tried. It's blooming again today. The color is a little lighter but the form is the same as this photo. I've got to get this one pulled to the keeper area. I think it has some good potiental. I've got pods on this one, I'll be anxious to see what they look like in a couple of years.

The Elizabeth Salter x unkn is another of my best to me. It's only about 3.5" but it just loves to bloom. It's been blooming since the first of May and is putting up another rebloom scape. This one will set a pod everytime I touch it with pollen. In fact, it had so many that I had to stop.

The melon that I'm going to register is always so pretty. Alot of blooms have a full inch of ruffles and the shapes can be so cool. It will be from 6.5 to 8 inches. It's got seed pods on it and the pollen has been really good for me this year.

Thanks everybody for your kind words. It sure makes all the work worth it, to hear your comments.

Elizabeth Salter x unknown is my favorite seedling although it's a hard choice. Second choice might be Imperial Impressions x JKO. Anyway they are all something to be proud of.....On the others, if that's an FFO on Mountain Wildflower it's hard to see how it could get any better. A real wowzer.....Maryl

Well, well, well. I just looked up Mountain Wildflower after your comment Maryl and the plant I've got that I labeled MW is not MW!!! No way. I really don't think this is a case of it will look more like it later.

orchid with purple eye and edge above green throat

That's the description on AHS. Michele, can you ID the picture I have labeled as Mountain Wildflower???

Oh, my, I choose Descriptive Details x Across the Universe too. Very nice seedlings Mona.
And I know so well about the hubby and sandwich issue. We are certainly getting all the
exercise we need and more in the gardens, but not much in the kitchen.

I would like to know what that Mountain Wildflower one is also. Stunning bloom.

I think I figured it out. I also bought Magical Marrakech and I believe that's what this one is. Michele will know for sure. HMMMMMM, now to go out there and see if I have two labeled the same. I'll be back.

Two different pots with Mountain Wildflower on one and Magical Marrakech on the other. The one I posted the picture of bloomed yesterday. The one I have labeled as Magical Marrakech hasn't bloomed this year and I don't think it will. So, I won't know until next year if I actually have both plants. It's ok, cause I know it will get taken care of. I probably just got them mixed up. If I did, I did a good job because I have my label and the label it was shipped with in the same pots. Oh well, Magical Marrakech is stunning to me. I've got the pollen from MM on 20 blooms today. I haven't made labels yet and won't until I see if they set pods, so all I'll have to change is one place in my notes and put the correct label in the pot.

I'm sure glad you commented on it Maryl. I was blessful in my ignorance because I didn't remember what MW looked like. I researched it when I saw it listed for sale of the Lily Auction and then promptly forgot since then. That was December 28 last year, too long for me to remember!!

It does look like Magical Marrakech to me, Mona. I just saw a picture of it on Michele's
seedlings.
