Does anyone have any information about a hybridizer named V. Christopherson? There was a very interesting 2011 iris of his, "Smoke Filled Rooms" with nearly black bloomstalks advertised in Cooley's last catalog. I've googled it, but can't find any more information.

He has been an officer in the Tall Bearded Iris Society...Vincent Christopherson, 3301 Hanover Drive, Arlington, Texas 76014-2433 [email protected]. Seems like he wrote some excellent articles on color patterns in iris in Tall Talk.

Thank you, Paul. Is Tall Talk about Irises?

I Googled and didn't find any info indicating any problem with Tall Talk. A friend here attended the TBIS Convention in April. I know the society is active.......what did you find?

Here's the link for the TBIS. Looks alive and well to me, and I sure hope it is! Rick Ernst of Cooley's was the brother of Judy Nunn (the editor), and he passed away very suddenly in late 2010 and Cooley's is now no more. He always took care of the printing of Tall Talk, but I would think that they are still getting it printed even without him. I can't remember if I got one in the spring, but I'm pretty sure I did. It comes out twice a year and has the most beautiful iris pictures in it, all included in the really modest membership fee.

I just googled Tall Talk Magazine, and it's a different magazine that I guess is now dead -- it was a magazine for tall people... Hilarious! No, seriously! Rolling my eyes.

When I found out that Cooley's was closing, I e-mailed them, as I wanted to know where I could get one of their's that I wanted. They responded back and told me that Schreiners had bought out all of their stock. I'm guessing that they will be offering some of their stock eventually.

That's what I did Betty -- Googled *Tall Talk Magazine* -- and the fourth item down, in bolder type that was eye-catching, was the notice that Tall Talk Magazine was dead. I read a little bit, but didn't pick up that it was about tall people -- sheesh. Now here's the kicker -- this morning I Googled Tall Talk Magazine again, to see how I goofed -- and guess what the fifth item down is????? My comment here on this chat list that Tall Talk Magazine is dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be careful people -- everything that you say on this list, and anywhere else on the internet maybe, is recorded and published somewhere on Google. Maybe it's only when you reference a proper noun? I don't know, but it makes me very uncomfortable.

Well -- I just Googled V. Christopherson, which is the title to this thread, and found no record of this chat on Google. But the whole thread is on Google under my comment about tall talk magazine. How the heck does that work? Anyone know?

P.S. I removed the capitals on the magazine name -- maybe that will prevent this from being picked up by Google?

I just googled tall talk mag with capitol letters and this is the 4th hit. The first 3 were about the iris magazine, though, so I think we're safe.

If you go to the American Iris Society Iris Encyclopedia and scroll down on the first page and hit on hybridizers and then hit on his name you will see a listing of his intros......if you hit on some of them you will get pictures. Hope nothing I've said has been memorialized.

You've said it, Paul, so now it's fact. LOL. Don't worry about Google, folks. Google searches for what we're interested in. Just don't dis your mother or something, especially if they are internet savvy.

Yes for sure, we are all immortal on the web, but how else would we find all of this interesting info so easily? Thank you, I will look up V.C. I am really interested in PBF and just contacted T. Silvers about his article in the AIS mag about his hybridizing for PBF and purple bloom stalks. He didn't know of "Equalizer" and surprisingly, none of the (2) pictures of it I found online mentions anything about the PBF.

We forgot to put the trait of pbf on MTB 'Billie the Brownie' when registered in 1991. We have been more alert since then. Perhaps it wasn't recorded during 'Equalizer' registration.

But we've got it on the list on Cubits. So, if anyone looks there. Equalizer is on there also.

On Cubits Irises, on the right hand size look for 'Pages'. In pages you will find some various documents and that's one of them.
