It has rained everyday for weeks Angry All the roses and many perennials have flower buds, but no blooms yet. Some views from indoors

It looks heavenly to me Joanne. Sticking tongue out

We haven't had a drop in weeks. Not even a hint of a cloud in the sky. It's just unrelenting heat here, and no relief in sight. Today ONLY 89°, tomorrow 103°.

We'd give anything for some of your rain.

TV weathermen told this afternoon about a front coming down from Ohio that should hit here about midnight or 1 am. It was suppose to bring as high as 60mph winds. It is hitting here now, with rain, thunder and lighting. We need rain bad..It's earlier than the reporters mentioned. Hopefully I won't need to water everything the first thing tomorrow morning. I hope it rains all night like this. Saw my plastic sprinkling can getting tossed around. Wonder where it will end up? Thanks for the rain my Ohio gardening friends. Hope you all are getting it too. I was delivering community newspapers after dinner 100 degrees.Did a court with 8 houses, came back home for more papers to deliver to 6 houses on another street, came back for the 18 houses on our court..That's done for another 2 weeks..
Hope you all are getting a lot of rain too.

I tip my hat to you. from Ohio.

That storm came through here, bringing a little rain and 80 mph winds. Knocked out power and phone lines in the neighborhood, which was restored last night around 5 p.m. Neighbors all spent yesterday partying under our maple tree. We had an all-day party, lots of fun. But we were very grateful to get power, and air conditioning, back.

I heard that a quarter of a million people in Cincinnati area lost power on a 100° day.

Dreaming of such a thing. I don't remember what a rainy day is like, looking out from my hot, dry, scorched yard.

We mowed our lawn for the first time in a month yesterday. While I wish it would rain (we are over 12" short for the year), I can also sympathize with those who are getting too much rain. Last years flood were almost as bad as the flood of 1937 here in southern Indiana. Back to back bad years Sad

I'm feeling for you, Neighbor. News stories about the drought almost always focus on Indiana as it is one of the hardest hit areas.

My "garden" is sad this year but, except for a few tomato plants, mine are ornamentals. A poor flower garden doesn't match what farmers are going through, who have to depend on Mother Nature for their very livelihood.
