well it was 111 yesterday and more of the same today, no rain in sight, and ALL 4th of july fireworks have been canceled, and they are asking that no one have outdoor cooking. my Adeniums so far are surviving, but the rest of the plants look rather forlawn, and speaking of lawns I no longer have one, I have Burnt grass.

I saw that heat wave you are experiencing on the news. I hope your plants survive. It finally stopped raining here, a little less humid today and sunny. Everything in my yard grew a foot in a week during all that rain. I need to get it back under control. Plus the spiders all seem to have appeared overnight and when I try and get through the jungle I'm too often staring at 8 eyes. I'm trying to let more of them stay this year but I don't know if I will be able to. They really creep me out. I keep telling myself that they eat mosquitoes and other bad bugs but every time I run into a web I get the willies.
A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.

Sorry to hear about that extreme heat Doris. On the flipside, better to be cautious than to be in a fire dilemma.

Don't worry about the Adeniums and over 100 degree temps. I live in the Phoenix area and it runs those temps all summer. My Adeniums love it!Thumb of 2012-07-02/nmumpton/bc26c8

When you say stopped watering, do you mean watering not allowed by your city?

I can relate Doris last year we had record high temps and awful drought conditions for the whole summer the lake even dried up. I lost some trees and but my adeniums f made it thru and so did those terrible little spider mites everytime I think they're gone they show up again but I am hanging in there on the fight until I win. Here are some of the blooms from this year....RonThumb of 2012-07-03/rucky/962cc3
