I really like the second seedling, the one from Karelia in the first group of pictures.

Mona, Fred and everyone else who commented on Awesome Applique X Blazing Saddles: It's a one-year-old evergreen seedling that only had top branching with 8 buds on its debut. There are six bracts on the scape, so I'm hopeful I'll get some branching and improved bud count next year after I move it to a sunnier garden. It has multiplied from one fan to three, and so far no rebloom.

The two near whites are two-year-olds. Both have multiplied from one fan to six since last year. Bud count on both is 13-14 buds per scape. The first one is whiter and is a semievergreen. The second one, a dormant, has a pink blush along side the midribs and sometimes on the sepals. I like its thin gold edge that has some tiny teeth. Where they are now planted, neither gets enough sun to rebloom.

Ann and others who liked Redefined Design X Blue Eyed Bandit #1 - That one is a 2nd year seedling that has gone from one to four fans. It's crazy fertile. I constantly had to keep breaking off bee pods during its first bloom season. This season it's set every pod I've tried on it. Unfortunately many have aborted during the recent heat wave. It has four-way branching and 13-14 buds per scape. Here are some of its other looks from this season.

Dot - Thanks so much for your comments. The Karelia baby is one that I'm using to hybridize for patterned eyes and blue eyes and edges. It's a two-year-old with 13-14 buds on 29 inch scapes. Here are some other photos of it.

Debra and Stephanie - Thanks for your sweet comments!

Judy - It's so good to find my Dave's Garden friends here! How are you? Have you registered any seedlings yet? I remember you had some that I wanted to buy way back when.

Thanks Betty! I was pleased with the results I got on the Redefined Design and Blue Eyed Bandit cross. The one seedling that survived out of the Awesome Applique X Blazing Saddles cross impressed me enough that I am repeating the cross again this year.

I was excited to discover that one of my white seedlings, Dust Be Diamonds X Tuxedo Junction #2, has more buds than I previously counted. One scape has 17 and the other 16. A late bloomer, it's still blooming in my garden, and has quite a few buds to go.

I had a seedling last year have 22 buds and this year that same seedling has 15. I am sure it is weather related. I would like to register it so what should I put as bud count?? Should I do an average??

Cindy - This year the weather has been so strange. Many registered CVs that normally have bud counts in the 20s only have 7 or 8 this year. I would put the bud count of 22 on the registration. You know it's capable of doing at least that many.

Thanks Debra, I kind of thought so too but wanted to make sure. It has been such crazy weather. I have very fertile plants not setting pods and not as fertile ones setting pods. Wierd for sure.
