Mona - Lexington Lace is an excellent rebloomer and parent. The petals are usually darker than my picture. With the heat, the color has faded some. Mutton Jade is one of my very best late bloomers. It will set seed in the hottest temperatures, has great buds and branching, and has had instant rebloom scapes each of the three seasons I've had it. None of my seedlings with these parents has bloomed yet, so I can't tell you about the results. The red one, Cherokee Star, usually holds its color very well. But not on these 104-109 degree days we've been having. Bullfrog Kisses is a new one for me this year, so I don't have experience with it yet.

I don't know if any red can handle the weather we've all had this past week. I grow most of my reds in shade and even they wilted this past week with the heat. I grow most of my plants in pots and the ones that get the most sun look terrible. The foliage looks like it was burned about half way of each leaf on alot of the pots. some look ok but they are struggling that's for sure.

I've had a bunch rebloom for me this year and I've really been pleased with that. I think they have really appreicated all the repotting last fall. The fertilize and alfalfa pellets probably had alot to do it with it too. Oh me, it'll be time to add more fertilize and pellets in just 2 short months. Ugh, I don't look forward to that.

Thanks Ann for the info on your plants. I really do like Lexington Lace and Cherokee Star. I'll be looking for them on the Auction, maybe someone will have them.

I ordered Bullfrog Kisses this past winter, and when I got my order - they were sold out. On the other hand, if I wait, perhaps the weather will improve. Between the extreme heat, drought, thrips and earwigs, I wouldn't be surprised to loose a bunch over the winter, just because of all the stress. So waiting a few more years for that one is fine by me.

This is one of my old Cottage dips - 8C. The color isn't great, but it is a blooming fool - so for now I keep it around. It is fun to compare these old ones with the newer hybrids

Thanks! I like mostly the dark colors = especially reds (as if one couldn't figure that out!) Also, those glowing oranges catch my attention, followed by purples and yellows and .....

Here I thought everything had stopped blooming, and then I found a few more...
