If it doesn't kill me, I'll love it.
And thanks for the big wow.
I rather overproduced anticipation by withholding information.

Sounds really cool! I don't think it needs to be that tall - the project I just finished is 4 x 1.5 and 4 feet seems really long (tall) unless its just to refill (visually) the space, but really once the tree is gone I think you'll (anyone) will get used to not having that air space filled...just my 2 cents. Can't wait to see what happens (by the way, will April work for you for me sending semps? Cause I'm sure I could send some sooner too!) Hurray!

Frankly, my aluminum siding is such a sickly shade of yellow I'd like to cover the whole front wall!

BTW - The working class houses here tend to be hideous!
I e-toured before I left California and I actually ended up buying a house I had said out loud to the computer "WOW, that one's REALLY ugly!"
She's lovely on the inside.
Bright, unlike many, and built in 1920 - hardwood floors, arched doorway.
And SMALL because I hate housework!

Hilarious!

Nice! I know the ones I saw were "gentrified" so they were nice but a rarity I think! Hey I saw and commented on your hypertufa post and if you do it and its "fun" and you post photos - I will probably make some too!! (not sure what the difference between that and quickdrying cement is but again, I could be "motivated" to make some!! Hilarious!

"CG" that stands for crittergarden - which I'm tired of typing out each time Rolling on the floor laughing A 6 foot conical shape covered with semps and sedums could look so cool, and at that height you really could put larger things on the bottom!
Here is an unedited photo of the semp vertical wall that motivated me to do my own project, this wall is 5x4 feet or so. Being winter its not looking great, also the people have just left it alone so there are some bare spots, but it was/is a good reminder of how something may look after a couple of years as things spread and die back...just something else to keep in mind when planning (I could go crazy with planning!!) crittergarden said:Well, the tree I'm removing is 6'.
For that reason only, I'm considering going that high.
As that is, I'll have to climb a ladder with soil to fill it....
UNLESS I can get sturdy enough pipe to stuff it most of the way horizontally and then stand it up (OUCH, my back says just thinking of that).

CG, could I throw out for your consideration to somehow"within" the height of your tall planter section it off into several parts with something solid enough to hold the soil up? If the planter has for example 3 "solid" sections in between holding up one third of the soil each, then the whole of the soil won't be weighing upon the soil below it so much. I am assuming your structure may be deeper in depth than those vertical pictures frames in which case just inserting something in between each 3rd part of planter would be doable? If this is not the case, then please disregard the above.
I am only suggesting because I have made vertical frames only 18 inches tall and the soil, which is held back by chicken wire, has tendency to sink to the bottom.

I see your point, but I think it is beyond my construction skills.
AND my "poor aching back" capacity.
I know it will settle.
I plan to water the heck out of it before I plant it AND be prepared to top it off after it goes through a season....

I think I might have put it on a hanger.
And I know there are some tiny, short sedum to cover the waist.

Jill that is wonderful. Wouldn't that make a great outdoor center piece on a table.

I found the site with other dress forms. Wow, I would love to find one of the old type dress forms.

Hilarious!
I LIKE Jill, but I'm not Jill.
Jeepers, I don't log on for awhile and they forget all about me!

Just giving you a hard time.

I think that dress is full size!
One could mold chicken wire using a dress form.
