I'll be 67 in a couple of weeks, so he sounds quite young to me.

Having fun exploring this strange new land! I have a small garden with my patio home, so I have it pretty crammed full of plants. Some old roses, some Earthkind, some that just need a home..lots of texas natives and always on the lookout for something new!

Hi Teacup and welcome! Are you in the Dallas area or Houston? (I saw your Zone 8...) We have a lot of Texas gals among the Rose lovers. Y'all are so lucky with many great rose nurseries growing right there in your home environment.

I'm here... Group hug
Thanks for the invite.
Been spending my winter on Facebook playing Farmville (she says sheepishly). Well lots of changes huh with DG!? Well one thing I've learned is nothing ever stays the same forever and figuring out new things is good to keep yourself from going senile although it may be a little too late for me. I'm pushing 60 kids...good lord where did the time go?
Will start reading/catching up here soon.
Too late right now.
BTW I thought Dave didn't like these things >>>> Smiling

I think Dave doesn't like them, but Trish does. They were bothering Angele and some other people with motion sickness, so Dave told them some way to stop the moving ones from moving. They don't bother me, so I don't remember the details.

Now, back to the main thing. You're here, you're here. It's so exciting! Now we'll have lovely photos of roses and geese and all of your other photographic subjects that we love.

I resisted for a long time but finally signed up just to follow what my kids are doing,
Resisted FarmVille for months because I knew I would like planting and maintaining a pretend farm too much, gave in as the winter months got colder, have way too much fun planning out colorful crop designs!
I do texting now too, not bad for a grandma! Sticking tongue out

No you are not the only one! We have resisted, though I imagine once my kids settle down and start having babies, that would be a great incentive to join.Right now I spend way too much time on-line as it is.

My brother asked me to come to Facebook last summer. I went reluctantly (figuring it was a teen/singles thing) and barely spent any time there but this winter I've been there very day. *Blush*
i don't need anymore FV neighbors (I have too many as it is) but I'd be happy to be your friend.
Send me an invite using your online name or I might not know who you are.

Skie, I use Facebook rarely... I joined when some of my kids' friends sent me emails asking me over. It's fun to get random FB messages from all of them, especially since they all spent many an afternoon at our house while growing up. I like being able to keep up with all my extra kids! It was handy for my 30th high school reunion too. It really simplified finding a large number of the 900 in our graduating class. I've reconnected with some old college friends this way too.

They are coming, by request, as soon as Dave gets around to it. We'll be getting back the ROTFLOL and a few more.

Hi,

I finally feel that I am beginning toknow enough to join Zuzu and friends in the Rose Forum.

My DH and I moved to Mount Bethel, PA 4 years ago from Harrington Park, NJ, We had had enough of the rat race in that area and decided that we would spend our 70's in a completely different ambiance. Now we are relocated city people finding out what we have been missing all these years. They quiet farmland area that we moved to has given us plenty of room to dig and plant and watch the sunsets from our deck. We have enough room in our new home to put up our relatives and friends who visit us often to enjoy the country atmosphere.

We have 4 children and 7 grandsons (who will be visiting us next week because of school being closed for the holiday).

When we moved here the house was surrounded by a huge flat expanse of mud that would quickly turn into weeds if we didn't hurry to do something about it. Of course we quickly covered it with lawn seed, put in some trees, and , thanks to my finding DG, I had all the information to confidently start planning gardens all over the place. My DH told me that the new bed that we put in last year would be the last one because I can't work as long and as quickly as I used to. He's right of course, so I'll just have to overstuff the beds with all the new stuff that I want.
