I got this in Sweden and I'd like to know how to care for it.
Rosettes are low to the ground, could be much bigger than the ones in the picture and the long narrow stems are branched and produce small white (I think) flowers.
I said "succulent(like)" cause the leaves are not thick at all, and not smooth, rather coarse to the touch.

I agree Nice one Janet Thumbs up

One Spanish language source says that it's an annual or biennial and monocarpic (once blooming) but sets decent seeds; the French source says it has to be protected from autumn rains.

English source http://holehirdgardens.org.uk/... gives it a few years before flowering and dying.

Considered alpine/rock garden plant so would require sharp drainage I suspect.

Another link with some additional info.

Thank you all!
You are great!
My dilemma is ... since I got these about 2 weeks ago, and then brought them home, and potted them in a somewhat sandy but not really fast-drying medium... should I risk planting them out in the garden?
Or just really keeping them in the pot they are but refrain from frequent watering???
Hmmm

I wouldn't risk planting them in the garden, you could give them some summer heat outside which I know you are having, then bring them inside for winter. I was tempted with this plant but I don't want another plant which needs too much care.

Janet, it doesn't seem to finicky.
Here in Romania, summers are rather hot and dry - which is what it's supposed to enjoy.
And it should be hardy over here.
Well. I'll keep it in the pot it is, but in a while I will take it outside in the sun and see how it does.

Yes Pia, I love it. Probably you could try to get some seeds somewhere and give it a try.

You can get it in the UK at Kevock Gardens ..

I'm beginning to think Romania sounds like a good place to live! We have 15C today, the sky is laden with dull grey cloud and it's raining again! Rolling my eyes.

WRONG! Winters are sooo cold, gets dark at 4-5 pm, and summers are really hot from June all through September sometimes and usually it doesn't rain enough to sustain the water needs of flowers and veggies.

Well, if all you want is a nice house with a few Cacti and agave pots by a big pool, then SURE. You'd get all the sun you need.
LOL
