Has anyone tried the old Josephs Coat? I always wondered about it??

I have Joseph's Coat. Here's a pic from when I was just about ready to plant it (bought it small and grew it out a little bit before putting it in the garden). I love the way it has so many varied colors of blooms at the same time on one plant!

I have a Joseph's Coat and it seems to do well with me.. and I'm not very good w/roses. Accepts all kinds of abuse.. let's just see if it wakes up this spring or if it croaked. You'll have to forgive the rest of the yard.. this is before I had finished ripping out all the grass (weeds).

Janice, JC is a very frequent bloomer here in the South... it seemed to be almost continually in bloom. The blooms are interesting colors, but I wouldn't say they are showstoppers. It's the color mix that is an attraction for me, as the blooms themselves unfold a bit wider than the form I would want for a vase or arrangement.

I love the big, blowsy, romantic rose look, for sure. IF summer ever comes...terrible winter here this year. Crocus are blooming at last, tho.

I have too many favorites...but when they mingle together like this...they make my heart jump, they are so lovely!

Skie, don't tell anyone, but I selected that picture for that day, the 12th, as it's was my 33rd wedding anniversary. Actually, I selected all of February's pictures and all of July's photos are my picks too. I am one of 6 BOTD moderators.

I am SO enjoying everyone's rose pics! A friend of mine in Winston-Salem planted JC last year and loves it. I had been trying to get her to join DG, but now I'll be trying to lure her here instead. She wanted to plant roses and I posted a link to Zu's rose parade for her to look at to get ideas, and JC and another one whose name escapes me are the two she wound up with.

I planted Eglantyne last year as well, but it bloomed only once before cold weather set in. I am expecting great things from her this year.
