Hi, Janice. Nice to meet you. Are you a DG alumnus? I am so glad to be back in Zu's lovely rose garden and enjoy her parades of roses, along with all the rest of the fine rosarians here who are helping me as I stumble my way into rose culture. I do plan to post photos as my roses start blooming. Here is a partial list of what I have:

Thanks, Evey. JC may have a more modern counterpart that is a better performer, I am hoping!
I have some David Austin roses which are great hard workers.
Angie, I love Gertrude J. She is wonderfully fragrant, isn't she?
Anyone had experience with Eden?

Joseph's Coat is really striking in my garden because of the vibrant colors, but it often has no leaves at all because of persistent black spot. Its "more modern counterpart," Jacob's Robe, behaves much better, but the colors aren't at all vibrant.

Here's a photo of Jacob's Robe. It has the same colors as Joseph's Coat, but they're muted versions of the original. On the other hand, look at all of those "unspotted" leaves. It has its advantages.

I have to admit Betty Boop is one of my all-time favorites, too (even if it is "just" a semi-double). It's colors and staying power can't be beat.

I don't have a favorite rose, out of about 230 I grow here it is impossible to pick just one.

Mostly I go for floribundas and shrubby type roses but I do have some hybred teas. My favorite HT is deffinately BLACK MAGIC.

My favorite landscape type shrub rose is a small white flowered one called THE GIFT.

I have lots of Clements roses from Heirloom Roses. I have to say that I am just crazy about Clements roses. I started with them in 2007 and added more each year. Buying from Heirloom, they start out small but they grow fast. I guess my favorite Clements is STAR OF THE NILE but its so hard to just pick one with them. They are all so outstanding.

I am trying to think of my favorite Floribunda but there are so many possible choices. Ones I deffinately need to mention are LAVAGLUT and BLACK CHERRY. Also PLAYBOY and well, most of florabundaville!

Thanks, Rita! That sounds like an interesting list to explore. WOW! 230 roses is an awesome thing! Do you have any photos to share?

My choice is completely illogical. But it is Sharifa Asma. She not my best grower, doesn't really care for full sun, and loves her fertilizer. In other words, she's a bit of a diva. But its the fragrance! I just love the frangrance of Sharifa Asma. So today she is my very favorite. But ask again this fall. I've got about eight new Austin varieties I've never grown before. I may have a new one then!

I've posted this photo before, but its the only one I can find right now. Sorry!
