Joseph's Coat is really striking in my garden because of the vibrant colors, but it often has no leaves at all because of persistent black spot. Its "more modern counterpart," Jacob's Robe, behaves much better, but the colors aren't at all vibrant.
Here's a photo of Jacob's Robe. It has the same colors as Joseph's Coat, but they're muted versions of the original. On the other hand, look at all of those "unspotted" leaves. It has its advantages.
