Do you have a idea of a hosta you would like to look like.

I want someone to breed a blue hosta like Curly Fries, Curly wiggle, Stilleto. I would love to see a blue wiggle, a Blue Curly Fries....

Do you have a shape size hosta you wish someone would breed?

Has wider leaves , but you might like Waterslide.
I know they are getting closer to red Hosta but I think a bright gold streaked with red would would be interesting.

Bob,

Think you would like Hosta Lemon Snap which has those colors

Yes Bob your wish would be really pretty with one of the many complimentary Heucheras.

I looked at Waterslide but I still wish for the skinny leaves.:blushing:

RJ I saw that one at the nursery maybe because it was small but I think the pics are a little deceiving.

I would like more. Huge hostas like sum and substance to have variegated thick leaves, quilted with tiny hairs that keep slugs at bay. And some that would take the sun better.

NJBob that sound interesting gold with red streak.or how about a mosaic look.

Heucheras are a real fav of mine..

@bumplbea, Hercs are one of my favorites too. I have to do special things for them to survive in my weather but I have worked it out.

What is the plant in your second pic. that has all the hercs around? It is in the front in the green pot.

I'd like to see a hosta with red flowers.

Recent Lemon Snap that I purchased, always had good luck with the Solberg hostas.

What I was envisioning is for example take Gunther's Pride

Where it is darker green I would want red. The light green more of a gold.

Cinta... I am trying to remember the name of the plant you asked about in the last pic. It has a stem column pops up from center with serious sticker flowers that are great dried flowers , but can bite from every part of the plant even the stem. There all giant sizes and mini sizes variegated and not. Having a senior moment...yikes...

By the way enjoyed peeking thru your photo bucket. 🤩 I tip my hat to you.

I'm sure your right, probably would need to hit the lottery to get it. I was shocked enough at some of the prices of some of the streakers . 100 and up for a 4 inch pot.

If you went through my photobucket you know I am plant obsessed. Rolling on the floor laughing *Blush*

That plant you have is odd. I have never seen one and the pot really compliments the plant.

Your photos remind me of my seasonal journey prepping , planting and planning.

@Bumplbea, I thought it looked familiar and your description sounded like Bears breeches but I have never seen those colors. I am constantly fighting it in my yard. Maybe I should dig one up and put it in a pot. LOL

Daniel.. acanthus verigata or bears breeches .Acanthus means bract, which are modified leaves that are often more colorful than the actual flowers. They help to attract pollinators. The botanical name for Bear's Breeches comes from the thorny look of their purple bracts and leaves when dried for dried floral arrangements can be very spiny with stickers on the ends of leaves and bracts . Like stickers or spines on cactus. They are very vicious referring to the many sharp sticks on hands and fingers when handling the stems . Like picking out a prickly pear commonly called opuntia cactus.
