Do you have a special way that you keep track of when you feed your plants; or your rose bushes? Let's hear your tips.

Do you keep a running inventory of gardening products that you use on a regular basis? I thought I was out of Bayer 3 in 1 Systemic rose and flower food and I stopped at Home Depot last night to replenish my supply. Imagine my surprize this morning when I went to put the new bottle of it in the garage cabinet..There were several other bottles there! I wasn't out at all. How I goofed on this is beyond me..Oh well, I'll take the unused bottle back today and get my money back. I can buy 3 more Pow Wow Berry euchinacea plants with that money. Guess I had better get down there soon to make sure they don't run out. At $4 per plant..that was a bargain.

I have an extra 2012 calendar and I'm going to start writing down when I feed the rose bushes and when I apply Miracle Grow to all the flowers. Will buy a bullentin board to hand up in the garage. I have many clipboards that I can hang up until I can buy the bullentin board. A clipboard will take up less space and be easier to hang so I may skip the bullentin board idea and why not use what I have already?

That is a really good buy on the Pow Wow.

Okay, I know I haven't lost my mind yet. I was about ready to take the new bottle of Bayer 3 in 1 systemic rose and flower food back and I looked at the other bottles of Bayer I had in the cabinet. One is Bayer 3 in 1 Insect, disease and mite control spray. There is a full bottle and one almost empty. I had bought it when my columbines developed mites or leafminer this Spring. The other large container of Bayer Product is the 2 in1 rose and flower food in granules..recommended by the man who does our prunning..so I'm not taking anything back. I just wish they would make the directions in larger print!

i just bought a new laptop computer and it has somethng called "sticky notes" on it. when i clicked onto it a little screen opened up and i was aleto post notes to it. one of he notes is when i fertilizer my tomato plants and my fig tree, all of which are in 10 gallon containers. whenever i turn on the computer the note is staring me right in the face. it's also good for doctors appointments.

Thanks for the useful tip..I am sure a lot of computer software will allow me to do a lot of things, if I was knowledgable and knew how to use what I have already built into my system but I'm unfortunately computer challenged.

if i was computer savy then i would know how in the world that photo of my grand daughter got on here. LOL

From your plant list here at ATP, you could make a note in the comment area of when you last fed the plant or when it's due for feeding.

I don't generally feed plants except
- a little granular in the hole at planting time
-a little compost whenever I have a finished batch ready to use.
- I feed annuals in pots
And I generally don't use pesticides, systemic or topical, so that's never an issue!

We did have to treat for bugs this year (termites), and we have a lawn service again that uses the junk, but I don't treat flowers or flower beds with anything. I try my best not to poison the good guys like bees, butterflies, ladybugs, etc. who so frequently visit my flowers.
