I am hoping that a vendor review feature is added to ATP. It's helpful to know the good and the bad, especially to new gardeners.

Dave will be implementing a similar thing here, given time.

I will be letting my subscription lapse on DG the next time it is up for renewal. I find that ATP provides everything I would find over on DG. Well, except for a Pets Forum.... but the pets forum has not been the same since so many people left DG after the "big shakeup"....

We don't have any insect and spider id forums here. I enjoy that on DG.

Why can't we just start those forums here? I'm interested in all three that are mentioned above.

I dont' know if Dave's plans for here could really be considered "similar" to to the DG WatchDog. I know they plan to eventually have a review feature, but my understanding is that it would be handled very differently (but it's always possible that I misunderstood)

I've checked out and been a member of several of the forums off and on for years but evidently I missed the "shake up" mentioned before. Can someone direct me to a post or announcement explaining this? I'm totally confused about the differences and connections in/to each of the forums and who owns who

DG was created 12 years ago by me. It's a very long story, but in summary, the site changed hands a few times and the last company to get their hands on it opted to not keep me on staff. A bit later on I started ATP.

My account at DG was removed and I have no access to the site any more. I'm not excited to encourage ATP members to go to DG. We are in direct competition with them. If there are features that ATP is lacking, I'd rather just know about it so we can consider implementing them here.

I was not aware of this and assumed DG's was still your site.

I agree Dave. That is why I am letting my subscription lapse. ATP has everything I need, plant wise.

I am glad you jumped in here. I was going to try to find the thread in the site forum where you talked about a watch dog type feature here.

I let my subscription to Dave's Garden expire as soon as a friend told me about this site. This one has everything I need for plants, and most all of the friends that I made at DG have moved here too. So, it's pretty much perfect!

woofie, I couldn't agree more!! This site is AWESOME, and will only get better with time!! Is it even possible for it to get better? I think it's perfect now! I know that I said it was "pretty much perfect" before, but it's totally perfect!

Dave,

This is the best site I have ever been on bar none. It is so easy to use, especially to upload pictures. It is AWESOME!! I hope it remains free, but if it doesn't I will understand. I was on the other new forum Mydaylilies, but it crashed and lost most of my albums, it is longer to load the pages and isn't as easy to navigate. I used to be on Gardenweb, but you had to upload your pictures somewhere else first, I used Photobucket, then you could upload them to the forum. That was VERY time consuming. Here you can just upload directly from your computer.

Dave, thanks for the explanation.. Dang it! I just renewed my subscription at Dave's. Is mydaylilies.com related to any of the 3 messages boards we've mentioned?

Dot, rest assured my plan, intention and desire is to never ever charge for access to any of ATP. Thumbs up

dd, I don't know anything about mydaylilies - never really heard of 'em.
