Well, ready or not, here they come! I got my first order of peony roots. Seven from Gold City, and they gave me Raspberry Sundae as a gift.

I'm excited to receive them, but I have not received a decent rain in about 4 weeks, so my ground is as hard as a rock. I am not looking forward to planting them, but of course I can't wait until the bloom season starts again 😊

I added Ella Christiansen and Fern B after seeing them at the APS Convention. Lovey dubby

Lovely bloom! And I am a bit envious. My early stuff doesn't ship for more than a week - and it is a month to the day before the bulk of it will be ready for pickup.

Yesterday, I got 8 beds tilled and mixed in peat moss before the rain got here. Being ready a month early should give you an idea of how much I am looking forward to this Hurray!

I hoped to get the first peony (together with garlic) yesterday but the mail carrier left only a note Thumbs down Will go to the post office tomorrow and plant them after work. Most of my orders should be shipped next week and I am ready for them! Hurray! Only four peonies will go to pots this fall because I ordered them from Songsparrow and will get them from my friend in NH in mid-October on my way back from Russia.

I am so excited for everyone's new additions! Looking forward to see new blooms next spring.

Wow Top, you are truly ready! Your peonies will be so happy because you already have their growing space well prepared before their arrival. Can't wait to see your peony blooms next spring. Please post pics!

I may have two tree peonies from Osiris Jardins but not sure yet.

Wow Top! Six new beds! It will be fun to follow your progress. Keep us posted on your progress.

Anya, will you be buying any peonies in Russia? That would be fun!!

Karen, I look forward to seeing your tree peonies from Osiris. They send wonderful herbaceous divisions.

Did everyone hear that Hollingsworth Peonies bought the Song Sparrow peony stock? Talk about a lot of work!! I imagine thousands of peonies will be moved.

It's so much work to plant peonies, but the blooms are so worth it!
Hurray! Lovey dubby

Good grief, Gold City Flower Gardens _really_ has an amazing line-up of cultivars! Thanks for mentioning them.

Was gone for a long weekend to Ohio and came home to a surprise box at my door from Gold City. I ordered Carol, Reine Supreme, and they gifted me Raspberry Sundae

Sorry Meiko, I didn't see this topic and started a new one. I got my roots from Gold City also. Any way to combine the two threads?

They look wonderful Gary! Are the prices from Gold City reasonable?

Annette, I like Gold City farm and ordered from them a couple of times:

Prices are good, quality is comparable with Adelman's and other good nurseries. They raised the shipping cost this year, but it is still OK.

Wonderful looking roots. Can't beat Adelman's for size and eyes. I usually get first blooms the next spring on Adelman roots.

The last peony planting before my travel. My husband will stick one root from Parkland Peonies in a potato "field" and I might re-pant it when I am back if the soil is workable or in spring. I will get 4 roots from Song Sparrow from my friend on my way back and plant them in pots.
Winged Victory from Brooks.
