For whatever reason, this has become one of the most sought after plants in the world at the moment. Is it a fad? Maybe. Who knows? All I know is, people are paying huge sums for very small (and sometimes non-viable) stem cuttings of this plant. At the International Aroid Society show and sale last night, my friend who attended said they had a special auction JUST for this plant.
So if you got one, show it here!

These are a couple of my newest leaves, taken today

The first one has already hardened off, the second one has just completely unfurled and has that fragile look

Thank you. I am not the only member that has them. I have a mix of what is called Thai Constellation and Albo-variegata, but in truth, it has been put forth by aroid botanists that there is really only one kind. The variations in pattern are due to the type of chimeral variegation. I get bog splashes of white on some leaves and dots and ovals on others. Its all random

Gina, that is so pretty! I have the regular green M. deliciosa and I've always loved the looks of those beautiful variegated leaves but I can't imaging paying the prices being asked!

Well I guess I cannot entice the other folks to post. So here is another

Lin I don't understand the big prices either. People in the UK and the rest of Europe can obtain them much more inexpensively than we can here in the US. Not dirt cheap, but less expensive.

This type of variegation is extremely variable and can sometimes even revert back to green. But that has never happened to mine.

Most of mine tend to be both stippled and splashed. Sometimes I get stems that are just one or the other but its usually a combo. This one is more just splashed

I know you know that the variability in the variegation comes from the stem. This type of chimeric variegation happens because of a mutation in the plant that led to two types of cells being b=present in the same plant...normal green ones that can produce chlorophyll and photosynthesize, and white/yellow/cream ones that can't. The pattern is dependent on the arrangement of these different types of cells in the stem. The way it was explained to me years ago by a mentor was that the cells run in kind of a cell highway where they are the cars, and there are cars of different colors. They are driving up the stem, and when a leaf forms from a node, they take the exit and drive to the leaf. However they arrive in random order from the cell stream is how the variegation gets expressed.

If there are a lot of green cars and a few white, you get spots stipples of narrow bands of non-green.

If there are more non-green cars you get patches and splashes, or both.

If there are only white, or only green, well you may be in trouble.

If the green cars take over the highway and crowd out all the non-green, your plant may revert if the white ones don;t make a genetic comeback.

If the white ones do the same, your plant could die because those all non-green leaves can;t photosynthesize. So the best thing to do at that point is to make a stem cutting a couple leaf nodes back behind the point where the all one color stuff started.

This is why many people gave up trying to grow Philodendron Pink Princess....the all pink cells tend to take over in many many plants and just won;t go away

And there's still a company out there here in Florida actually selling pink princesses and saying that they won't revert I'd never pay the money for one

This is gonna be a big honking leaf I have a feeling. Just separated from the cataphyll and going to start unfurling. Reminds me of a heron's or crane's bill

Hi all,

I visit this site often, and today I decided to sign up! After buying my green Monstera deliciosa, and seeing the Thai constellation online, I knew I wouldn't be content until I owned one. I found a seller in the UK with little guys for sell. After reading the reviews and researching seller it was time to checkout. It was a stressful purchase with plant shipping from UK to US, customs, transit, etc. Below you will find unboxing day pic (Mar 2019), and recent pics (Oct 2019).

Hi @plantladylin. Guess I got lucky. I thought long and hard before checking out with this plant. But something told me to do, might not be available later so I did. It was the first time I actually made the right decision, its usually the other way around for me. The seller in the UK was Tropical Plant Company. Hope its okay to post the sellers name, I am in no way associated with them.

I'm sure it's okay to mention a sellers name, we quite often talk about companies we purchase plants from. I've never purchased from an overseas vendor, I figured it would cost an arm and a leg and without a guarantee of being in good condition upon arrival.

I have, but it was a group buy. It did not turn out altogether well (it was from Thailand) the box was held in the Port of Miami on the ship for some days before it cleared customs. Some of the stuff was cooked
