Rita, what are your favorite late Westbourne's? I would like to add a couple more of hers, but can't get on her website. I thought I would contact her directly while I am trying to keep myself from bidding on her offerings on the LA. ~Jan

The best place to buy those Westbournes us on the LA. You usually get a good deal by bidding on the LA. Don't have much in late bloomers for Westbournes. MILK K ORANGE is a good one that is somewhat late.

I haven't been to a daylily meeting in some time but when I heard that Mary Jane Meadows was coming to speak at the Southern Massachusetts Daylily club last Sunday I decided to take the drive.....all 2 hours and go meet her and see what she's been up to. What a good time I had at the meeting (nice group of people) and how nice was it to get a chance to meet Mary Jane. Like quite a few of you I also grow some of her daylilies and have been wanting to add more. What a nice lady she is and I was very surprised to find that she remembered me from the purchases I had made in the past. The club had an auction of some of her more recent intros including some of her 2013's and my hand would just not stay down I was lucky enough to get SUCH A GREEN HORN and a couple of others to add to my new garden next spring. If you ever hear of Mary Jane coming to speak anywhere I highly suggest you go hear her!

What is the best performing Westborne that you are growing? My price range is for the older intros. Any suggestions?

Her daylilies are always a good buy.

Westbourne Ol Mining Camp Lights bloomed and rebloomed for me this summer, even though the clump is not large yet, the drought hit my garden hard this summer, I am hoping fro great things next year. In addition, my Westbourne Valentines Day was just received this summer, and kept sending up scapes. I allowed it to bloom once, then spent the rest of the summer cutting the scapes to encourage better root growth.
