Perfume Perfection (mauve). This rose is well named. You can just stand there next to it and smell how lovely it is.

Rita, you're knocking me out! I especially love Floribundaville, with everything so densely packed together. All of your foliage looks incredibly healthy. What's your secret?

Zuzu - their weather there in Long Island is almost as perfect for roses as yours is (she's probably a zone 7 at least) and, in NY, you can plant Cheerios and grow a donut tree. Seriously.

Rita - What is that divine orange rose in the first picture? Wow! And, it's official, I *am* getting a Cherry Parfait. Period. End of discussion.

Years before I got into roses I never cared for the look of the traditional rose beds. That is a rose with lots and lots of space around it and then another rose and so forth. So when I planted roses I did things differently. I crowd everything I plant and saw no reason why I should do any differrently with roses.

I guess my way of jamming everything in together would not work for everyone and it doesn't always work for all roses. I have gotten rid of perfectly lovely to look at roses that were just space hogs and wanted to take more room than they are allowed around here. I alsa prune very heavily.

It is hot and humid here on Long Island in the summer. You have spray with a fungicide or roses would drop all their leaves. Since I have a yard heavily planted to attract bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and backyard songbirds, I do not use insecicides. Spraying with fungicide only.

Toni, I am zone 6B, some charts do list us as a zone 7. True zone 7 plants will not overwinter there though.

The very orange one in the middle is Charisma, which I got at Roses Unlimited. It is not a very big bloom but oh does it sizzel!

That shrub of The Fairy is just off my patio in the hill in back of my house. Here is a picture taken from further away so you can see more of what is in the area. The red roses towards the back are Champlain.

I love Cherry Parfait too, but I find that I'm eager to buy any rose with parfait or sorbet in the name.

Charisma has been my favorite rose for the last 25 years. I love its vibrancy.
