These are my plants for the hypertufa, I wanted a thriller, filler and spiller as the articles say. I don't think the Caladium fits in do you? I bought it to go with my new Heuchera plants but did not put it in there... Wanted my hypertufa planter to be a special container garden

Beautiful Sis. Love the color of that Heuchera. What is the tall chartreuse colored plant in the first photo?
And what is the vine looking plant in the first photo? Very interesting.

I chose the tall green plant for it's color. I did not realize it was Bleeding Heart (Dicentra spectabilis 'Gold Heart'), I have had little luck
with keeping them alive in the past .. maybe I need to rethink this.

The Heuchera is called Christa,(love the color) the others are english Ivy and creeping jenny as was suggested as a filler.

Still need something for a second layer under the tall one ....

The Dicentra will do well planted in the ground where your Ajuga is. It will come up through the Ajuga in the spring.
I so love the Creeping Jenny that Charleen sent me last year. It has become a huge mass of beauty in the pot with a large Abutilon. It is acting like a fluffy green ground cover.
It also has sweet little yellow blooms that are just now starting up.

If I plant all the suggested Items in that strip of ground, I will have to cut down the tree and widen the space by 10 feet,

But I am trying to think about what I want to plant there. I would like to plant the bulbs suggested earlier, if the squirrels and bunnies won't dig them up and eat them.

Chris lives in Wisconsin. They go dormant in the winter and seem to come back from nothing.

Well Sis, your tinkering is paying off. That is such a happy, healthy looking container of plants.
Your Creeping Jenny should be hardy in your area and come back for you next spring. Just put the pot in a sheltered area, but don't let it dry out over the winter.
The heuchera & ivy should come back also.

What a pretty pot full!

I have this ground cover called Euonymus 'Silver Queen'. What a bright spot in makes on the north side of my Wintercreeper (Euonymus fortunei var. radicans 'Silver Queen')

We can be colorful characters, that for sure.

That is very pretty but was thinking of something blooming. I already have the ivy I thought the begonia would do it but it is getting leggy.

The Geum come in tall and short types, even some different colors.

All the Guem or Geum they had was over 2 feet tall... would not work. Will continue to look.

No luck on flowers or foliage but I spent quite a while browsing.

Can't find the post on the picture frame planters but here is what they look like without plants at $125.00 don't think I will be buying any.

They looked like a box (sorta the old coke box) with a hinged lid on the top. The dividers were about 4" square with some sort of cushion
