Mine came either Friday or Saturday while I was out of town. The box sat on my porch until a neighbor brought it inside on Sunday night. The temp Sunday was 111. When I finally got home last night, I was almost afraid to open the box. Several of them had yellow leaves, but most look great. Just like Steve reported, they ranged from 7" to 11" tall. I ordered 6 Austin roses, and they are by far the best looking, with the most stems and darkest leaves. The minis are most sparse. Blueberry Hill looks pretty spindly. If Heirloom had been able to delay shipping for me, or if my neighbor had brought them in sooner, i think everything would have looked pretty lush. Here's a pic I took while unpacking. This bunch is all Austins. Sorry about the lighting! Now they are all outside on a covered porch waiting for me to pot them up to 1 gallon pots.

My roses have dropped most of their leaves, but the stems are still green and pliable. They are on a covered porch in a shallow tub with 1" water.
I think they'll be ok, but does anyone have suggestions?
Our heat has been unbearable. I have them out of the wind, but where they get indirect light. The instructions that Heirloom sent said DO NOT try to grow them indoors.

I would give them fish emulsion - African Violet food if you can't find any Age Old Organics there. You can probably find it at any hydroponics shop. That helped mine when I put them in the ground & they completely & utter lost every single leaf.

We don't have any hydroponics shops here because pot is still a felony with hard time in Kansas. Shrug!
But the regular nurseries do carry Age Old Organics and i think you are right, that is exactly what they need! That and a little superthrive.
My brain is fried from watching too much olympics. I haven't sat in front of the tv so much in the last year total as what I have the last 3 days. jeesh.
I can't believe how far gymnastics has come. They are doing things that were impossible in the 70s,
My wrists hurt just from watching. Rolling my eyes.

Sue, I didn't mean the shops are illegal. Johnson's is a regular nursery and their hydroponics selection is basic trays with water. The hydroponics shop I visited in Louisville KY (http://www.newearth.com/) had whole pop-up rooms with proper ventilation, motorized track lighting, special fans and meters, the whole shebang. Awesome selection. All the cloning material you could want. We have nothing like that here. I bought clay media, BAP hormone, oasis cubes and the store brand starter plugs and some more liquid minerals and flew it home with me. Both my carry on and my checked bags were searched thoroughly, and I politely answered questions, and went on my way.
The legal and political climate in Kansas is very very different from California. People here who grow anything questionable will buy anonymously on the internet, so that takes away the biggest customer base for local hydroponics sales. There just aren't enough people wanting to start seeds or grow tomatoes indoors to justify keeping good systems in stock. Cloning chemicals are hard to come by in most states, with reason.
