How about a new forum on canning and food preserving?

I like the idea, but I might propose that instead we consider changing the "Vegetables" forum to "Vegetables and Canning" or something like that.

Works for me, I think it would be very popular.

How about preserving rather than canning since there or other methods such as drying.

I agree with Horntoad. There are many ways to preserve food and canning is just one of them.

Actually I was referring to all types of food preserving, canning, as well as jams and jellies, , pickling, freezing, dehydrating etc.

Besides the veggie forum is rather slow. Adding food preserving might liven things up a bit.

Both the veggies and fruit forums are a bit slow. How about this for a proposal:

I propose that I merge the veggies and fruit forums into one forum, and name the new forum "Edibles and Preserving".

(Or a name similar to that)

Thumbs up and you could probably add the herbs forum to that too...it's pretty slow as well and herbs are great for preserving/drying/etc.
