Ive, I recently posted this tip.

http://garden.org/ideas/view/D...

It wouldn't hurt to chat with some of your neighbors (or local garden centers)about your soil/rock. It could be very eye opening.

Yes, I read it!

Around my neighborhood, most of my neighbors have their landscapes with drought tolerant plants, and from what I've observed, plants that don't have very deep roots. Very pretty. One of my neighbors had a beautiful adenium in the front of his house, fairly big, and it looked gorgeous. But this year he uprooted it; I'm assuming he placed it in the backyard. I haven't seen plumerias, though.

Finally checking in... my backyard is still a bit of a mess, but things are getting better. After over a month of getting my order from Mike, I finally was able to put them in containers. I'm amazed that they survived, given the fact that I just kept watering them, they lost leaves a couple of times, but all in all, they were very alive and ready for their new home.

Did you all see one of my first plumerias? It's doing great. Very resilient. Anyway. The sticks (Scott Pratt and I can't remember the name of the other one) are doing good.

My other plummies are doing good as well. It's been raining and raining, so the pics are not the best.

I'm happy that my sticks are doing so well, even when I had to neglect them for a while. Lovey dubby

Finally, my first ever plumeria:

This bridal bouquet needs a new planter. Sticking tongue out That hopefully will be my weekend project.

Eventually, when a couple of them get bigger, I plan to plant them in front of the house. There is a patch that I guess the previous owner had prepared because I can dig deep enough to put plants on the ground. Most of them though, will stay on planters.

I remember someone in the forum mentioning how getting into plumerias makes one more observant. I realized the other day that one of the houses down the street has a beautiful plumeria in the front. Not that I can ID it,but you get the idea!

I also realized that on the way to work there is another house that has rows of plumerias... So pretty! But of course I couldn't stare long enough, since I was driving and all... Sticking tongue out

Just so I am not misunderstood - I would never trim a tree without the permission of the owner. I was the victim of a fairly substantial theft of my plumeria a few years ago and know how it feels....
Nonetheless, it's good to be prepared for that time when you do spot a nice tree and you get permission! Thumbs up

I'm in agreement with the previous post. Were I to find someone helping themself to my plumeria, I might be inclined to take my shears to them and do a little pruning, too..... Grumbling
It only takes a minute to ask for a cutting.
That said, back to the post.
What did you use for your potting mix, Marmalve12, on those gorgeous plumeria from Mike? They look very happy and healthy, and all neatly potted up. Thumbs up
