I don't see the Profile button at the top of the page, It is still in tiny letters at the bottom of the page. Sad

I was looking at the tab area. Would it look better if it was just below the Mail button?

The tabs and buttons all look good to me now. The banner looks balanced with light areas on both ends, and the tabs look balanced too with longer tabs on each end. And thank you for putting the profile button back on top. Thumbs up

Okay, little red box is gone here. Profile at the top in the banner. My world is right once again. Hilarious!

Dave, it look like there's lots of room just below the banner --- would it be possible to make the navigation tabs hang down from the bottom of the banner? Just trying to think of a happy solution for all.

I had suggested that... I would much prefer that too. I hate the way the buttons interfere with the banner.

Don't worry, like I said in the first post of this thread, I'm working behind the scenes to find a good solution. Simply moving things around has bought us a little time but the concept is old and tired and in the future I'll be replacing it entirely with some new fresh innovative navigation system.

For what it's worth, I actually like how Facebook handles this. They have a thin blue bar at the top that contains all the navigation. When you mouseover the items, pulldown menus appear with links inside. I'm thinking of something like that for us: a thin nav bar at the top, then below that the pretty banner/logo, completely unobstructed by tabs.

This sounds good Dave & I think it's something that most everyone is familiar with so it shouldn't pose problems to ppl to navigate. We're all used to drop down menus. Thumbs up

Thanks for referral to his spiral masterpiece. I joined after he posted that...

Looks like a wonderful place to grow almost anything. Makes getting to the herbs a bit easier doesn't it?

Hurray! Hurray!

I still find the positioning of the Profile button displeasing. It looks out of place. Can we try it under the Tree Mail button?

I am liking the idea of the drop downs.

Lynn, I am working on an improved look, and I don't want to keep changing things around while I'm doing that, lest I continuously confuse people with the changes. Is it okay if we keep it as it is right now for just a little while?

I like the idea of drop-down menus, too! Thumbs up Seems like that would be a much cleaner look and provide more functionality in a smaller space. You have my permission to proceed, Dave. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing
