It would be nice to have categories for the companies being recommended. You know, what they generally sell, whether it's bulbs or daylilies or roses or seeds. Would it be possible to add something like that? Sometimes it's obvious from the name, but not always.

I agree we should have this. There are a few other features I want to add to Recommendations, too. Let me give some thought as to the best way to accomplish this.

Great! I won't spend time browsing a LONG gereric list, but if I see a category that I'm interested in, I will spend a lot of time looking at that list.

I like being abkle to look at several member's opinions on one page. If we remember to put our most important advice in the first ferw lines, we can scan many reccomendations quickly and decide which ones to read at more length. Good feature!

Also, it's not so much as a company where you can buy from, but a producer of items. Like Monrovia or Age Old or MiracleGro or something along those lines.

Good point, Toni. I have only recently started adding both the source (nursery) and the grower to my personal plan database, which is usually found on the plant tag. I'll be curious to see if patterns emerge.
