I've had about 10 seed pods on Alexa Kathryn. All of the seeds from her are very small, very hard and very dry. When I say small, they are 70%(appx of course) smaller than what I would call a nice round seed. Average size, not really big. I've had some huge seeds from several other crosses. I just thought the first pods had bad seeds, but I did keep them just to see. Now, that I've harvested all of them, I found them all to be tiny. I wish I could find something ---ah ha, the size of the green smilly face nodding this one is still a little bigger than most of the AK seeds. I have several different daddies on AK as the pod and it didn't change the size at all.

On the few that I used AK as the daddy, they are normal size. It's just when AK is mom. I'm just wondering is anyone else has noticed this??

Mona, some seeds will be small and some will be huge. It's usually dip seeds that are really small, but I have had some on tets also. The seeds should be hard but I'm not sure what you are referring to as dry.
If these are for you and not to sell I'd plant them anyway to see if they germinate.

Mona, I set some pods on Alexa Kathryn several years ago and all my seeds were as you described - small, very wrinkled and hard. Very different from most daylily seeds. I planted some of them and they germinated, but since I couldn't be sure if they were good, I didn't sell them.

Some seeds are just small, Blue Hippo, Maurine Faber and a few others make small seeds for me. As long as they look viable and not squishy (toss those), they are probably fine. My Maureen Faber pods aren't big at all I would day medium size, but they are crammed full of nice viable shiny seeds.
