the globe needs to be turned around. Drought in the US is killing crops. While we are dry here, it isn't that bad.

My poor gardens arer sad, Haven't divided anything, Everything is so stressed ut from no rain. We picked up a few inches the last week of July and coule three days beginning of August, We're still down by about 10 r 12 inches though.

Dear Cherie, they were lucky for the Olympic Games about the weather or so I am told! It has been gentle showers on and off all day, with heavy rain expected for the rest of this week! As the Games were driving us mad here I went down the nature reserve, and due to the warm weather in the 70Fs there was a lot of Butterflies about and a Kingfisher! The Buddleia is out here all over and the Butterflies love it, and the stinging nettles!

I'm here....

I just learned last night that we are going to New Orleans, Louisiana in January for our anniversary in January!!!!! We will leave on the 18th and come home on the 21st. Our anniversary is the 19th,

I have learnt that my parents are not too well, so I have to cook for them today and tomorrow as my nieces are coming over!

Dear Lucy, as it is hot and humid here I made them a quiche with lots of bacon and onions in it! Nice bit of potato salad and a normal salad and they were happy! My father was after a wee dram of whisky!
Now I am making a Lasagna for them as my nieces are coming over today as it is 03:00 AM here. They have not removed the Horse areas at Greenwich because of the Para Olympics, which starts on the 29th and goes on for two weeks.
There is a good letter in the local Newspaper that says the good people of Greenwich are prisoners for six weeks in their own homes. They are not allowed to use their cars at all, there is no public transport in most areas, and they have to buy from the local shops which is expensive.

GD finishes her internship at a camp for disabled riders on Fri. She has enjoyed herself & learned to work with a variety of people. Back to school next week.

Surely they could start to work on the cross country jumps. I have been on the train on the far side of the river & wolked thorough the tunnel underneath. They should complain to the council about the hardships continuing.

Dearest Lucy, have you ever tried to talk sense to a politician? They do not care about the normal people who live there, they care about money, the $$$$$$ £££££££ says it all to them! Why should they worry about people that cannot get anywhere when the business they are on the Board of Directors of, are making a fortune. After the MP's expenses scandal, they claim that they cannot live on £68,000 a year with two houses paid for and a secretary, research assistants, free lunches and dinners, free mail, computers, a car, plus cheap drinks!
The Olympics has been a God send for them to make money, and lots of it at the expense of the public. It does not show you on the TV that outside the Olympic stadium, the ghettos that exist in East London. High unemployment and nearly every child living in poverty or malnutrition! No of course they don't show that, they would not dare!

Politicians are the same around the world. Promise you anything to get your vote and once they're in, on to their personal agenda which you didn't vote for to begin with. I do NOT trust a politician as far as I could throw them.

Quick tip on how to loose weight and get weight! Go to a music festival with my niece on Thursday! She has a new tent, a cagoule and wellies, but has never camped does not know how to put a tent up, didn't realize that you need a little cooker and mess tins, plus a mug, knife, fork and spoon! Then of course food and water, tea bags or coffee, powered milk and sugar. Oh what fun she will have with 150,000 people and hardly any washrooms\toilets. She might listen to me and take some toilet paper wrapped in a seal-able, waterproof plastic bag! I know I have been to one and never again would I go near one!
Thursday to Monday, in the cold in a wet muddy field in the middle of nowhere, starvation will set in and there are know pizza places where she is going!

Dear Lucy, we do have them here but she is always studying to get into University as she wants to beat me! Whilst she is waiting for her exam results why not go to a Music festival. Well it might be a good odea if you know what you are doing!
