Hi All!

Hope your holidays were lovely... but just a couple thoughts:

Before you forget, go to your swap profile (top of this swap page, on the left under "manage your swap list") and add your address so it's there at the end of the swap and I dont have to chase people down for their address or search thru piles of mailers :D I'm all for efficiency - LOL!

A helpful hint: When your package of seeds is ready to send at the end of the swap, take a clear photo of the tracking # on the package and/or on your receipt if it's put in by the postal clerk. This helps if there is a question about your package's route/arrival and backup for typo's

As I write this, New Year still to come, so have a wonderful New Year!
HAPPY 2020!

The cost of this swap is being changed to $8.40. Just read on line that postage prices are going up for some items including priority.mail/flat rate bubble mailers

There is a place called pirate ship for shipping where you get discount prices. I've used it for years. Lets you print labels etc. Might want to check it out cuz shipping keeps going up every dang year Smiling Flat rate is not always the best price. Many times just a padded envelope first class is cheapest if weight isn't over the limit. SInce I live rural even priority doesn't get here any quicker in most cases.

Happy New Year !

Thanks for the suggestion. Because everyone wins different amounts of seeds and generally because the amounts pretty much fill the large flat rate bubble mailers, to be honest, it's just easier for the swap host who is packing 25++ swaps to do the one-size-fits-all and not have to worry about buying different size mailers, weighing, calculating by wt. And zip code, etc.

I don't like to fork over much more postage than I have to, but if anyone is finding the cost to mail presumably 50-150 packs of one seed, please contact me. I would ne willing to consider sending those who request via first class with the understanding that priority Mail goes out fastest and other participants have to gauge the cost of their postage plus the bubble mailer without going under my cost to Mail out. I have to go out and possibly buy those mailers, and processing will take longer.

I'm happy to stick with priority - as expected, and easier for the host.

(That said, I'm very thankful to learn about this shipping service -- I'm looking into them for my business. I've been using Shippo, and this Pirate one might be better... Thanks!)

Just another reminder to go into your swap profile and add your name/address so this will show for me. You have to do this for each swap; it's not a one time thing,

Hi everyone!

Thanks for your patience. I am setting the ticket # you will receive at the opening of the swap to 70.

Then depending on what you sell, you will earn more tickets, so remember to refresh for continued bidding :D

Looking forward to seeing you all Saturday night (7PM EST)

Any questions or concerns, you know where to find me. Easier to message me if it's urgent....tho I will check into the swap conversations off and on as well!

Good morning!

Hope you all had a ball last night when the gates opened for the swap.

Did anyone have any issues dibbing an item and having it not go thru....and having to do so again? (other than the obvious already taken)?

Swap officially ends at 6:59 EST tonight and you can run your "Final Send Sheet" and start packing!

Keep watch on this forum after the swap is over. I will be offering some of the seeds of mine that did not sell.

Have a great Monday!

Val,
Your snow pic reminds me of my mom's reports of hers in WY. I like to call and tell her what's blooming here now. Our forsythia is at it's peak and we're already into cherry & plum trees.

Good morning my fellow swap peeps,

Just wanted to give you an update. As of yesterday's mail, I'm still waiting on 5 packages from swappers. But we're getting there! Some of these swap packages are getting big :D

Have a good rest-of-the week!

Hi All,

When you join a swap, please make note of the "seeds must be sent to the host by" date. I personally am not chomping at the bit for seeds, and I DO know that sometimes things happen, but some hosts are a bit more stringent, and sometimes for a good reason.

Among some reasons, some people are waiting on seeds to wintersow including perennials, and often in the fall swaps, you'll find some people are waiting on some seeds to do other swaps in other groups, so please try to adhere to the dates posted as much as possible.

I'm still waiting on 5 packages from seed swappers for this swap. So it looks like seeds will not be going back out to you by 2/22. I will endeavor to get them back out to you asap, but I have commitments to work around as well.

Thank you!
Val

Val,
Can you post your received packages in the recent events as other swap hosts have done? It was helpful last Fall, when the post office had marked a couple of packages as delivered, before the host actually received them.

Usually if you use the "sent seeds to host" with tracking number, that shows up on the "recent events in this swap". Its not individually posted by the host.

I can confirm for anyone via message if u want to know if I've received your seeds. I dont think it's fair to list people whose I have not received yet.

I am assuming everyone's seeds are in the mail... if that is NOT the case, PLS LET ME KNOW soonest.

I have all the seeds I've received so far sorted into bubble mailers ready to go, waiting g on others

Val, there's some way for you to post "Host received package" in "recent events in this swap". If you want to see what I mean, you can pull up DnD's old swap #7 and look at "recent events in this swap" on that swap. Maybe Libby (DnD) can tell you how she posted those. Even if you don't need it now that you've gone the treemail route, you may find it useful for next time. Smiling
