I am glad that there are more yellow peonies on the market now than when I first started growing peonies.

I am having problems taking pictures of yellow peonies. They do not come close to the true color. Did anybody notice?

I've noticed some of the paler ones look washed out, primarily if the pic is taken in full sun. In light shade the colors on my IPhone look right. What are you using to take your photos, Alex?

I agree yellow peonies look lighter on photos. I had to take pictures with a camera on GPS and it was not a good camera. So only peonies in shade came out OK, I waited for a certain time during a day to take pictures of peonies.

I am currently using Sony Alpha 6000, but I had the same problem with my Olympus M720WS and my phones as well. Latest Anya pic is a good example - the color of flowers is very close to what we observe in nature, but foliage is way darker than it should be.... In the shade the colors of flowers are more prominent, but still a little bit off... I also have quite a few photos with similar color palette.
Karen, how did you take the picture of High Noon as it looks yellow enough and the greens are close enough to what it should be ?

Gorgeous blooms, Anya! Love your GT and can't wait to see such lovely blooms in my garden! Thank you! Claire de Lune looks so dreamy in your pic. I really like that photo!

Thanks LG! Yellows seem to bloom very well in my garden except for Blonde Vision.

Alex, I agree with Liz about the fading of yellows in the sun esp. in herbaceous yellow peonies. I wonder if Sunny Boy is pricey because its yellow does not fade? High Noon is a much deeper yellow color compared to all the yellows posted above. It does fade too but not to a cream like the herbaceous.

@anyagoro... I do like yellow peonies, I think Garden Treasure was my first one, followed by a couple of Bartzellas. Two others that I like are Border Charm and Prairie Charm that I did not get into the album.

Here is the meaning of the yellow color and what it symbolizes on the internet.

"Yellow Color Meaning

The color of optimism. Yellow is a compelling color that conveys youthful, fresh energy. This color of sunshine is uplifting and illuminating and associated with success and confidence. Yellow stimulates the left side of the brain, helping with clear thinking and quick decision making. Yellow grabs attention because the eye sees yellow first. "

My sister's favorite color is yellow.

My photos are such a mess from last spring, most somehow are missing labels now. I always take a pic of the tag before the pic of the flower but with moving them between phone and IPad I got them mixed up. I'm really enjoying the pics you guys are posting, though!

Omigosh, I am Drooling Drooling Drooling over these gorgeous blooms and bushes.

LG, both the Sonoma Halo and Yedo look massive! I am sure they must make quite a presence in the garden when they bloom. Do they bloom at the same time or one is earlier than the other? How old are your plants? Sunny Girl looks very nice in your pic! I don't see its sloppiness.

Alex, so beautiful! I like your spacing of plants. They look so balanced and nice. Do you have a preference between these two yellows?

Liz, I am so sorry about the chaos that is going on in your garden with the move and all. I don't know how you manage and keep track of all the plants. I hope that by next year, things will settle down a bit and you get to enjoy the rewards of the hard work that you are doing now.

Karen, S Halo is from 2017 and S YeDo is from 2018, and both are strong growing plants.

Their blooms are large but the stems are strong. I wonder if they are tetraploids?

Halo is more full than YeDo, but they aren't mature yet so each year they will change I think.

They are itohs so maybe that explains why they have such strong stems. Love to see these flowers again next year. Hope they will put on a wonderful show for you, LG!

All Itohs in Warmerdams catalog are indicated as triploids, I assume they are all triploids but I don't know.
