Thanks for the new thread Ronnie. New Year is not starting well for us either. Sparky, our Siamese, is not well. News from the vet was not what we wanted to hear. He's at home here... That's all I'll say for now or I'll start crying again.

I did not talk to DS#3 since he took Larkin to the vet this morning, but he talked to DS#1, who told the SU..............pretty reliable chain of info.........LOL Any-hoo, the vet took X-rays and I guess it is "growing pains".......he is growing so fast (which we have certainly seen). That thought never occurred to me........it should have. I'm hoping they gave him "pain pills" or something to make him more comfortable. I will talk to him tomorrow. I guess it is just something that he'll have to deal with. He's also been losing his puppy teeth, and the new ones are growing in so fast that Jason even commented on how quickly they came in.

I will keep you informed, but it is a relief (for me, at least) that it is not a horrible disease.

It's amazing and scary how fast the big dogs grow. One thing I learned from having Danes is NOT to give them too much protein when they are pups. Try and keep it below 26%. So many people fall into I have to buy the "Large Breed" dog foods that offer higher protein.

Jason is VERY diligent in his measuring of the puppy's food. He tried increasing it just a little bit and found out that Larkin was NOT ready for a meal increase, even if it was only 10 extra kibbles in his dish. I told him to take it back down for a few days, then increase just a tiny bit for only ONE meal for several days.

Sorry to hear that too. Sad Group hug That was exactly how I felt with our Tikoy last December. Hope your Sparky recovers, sometimes they just surprise us later on, and makes a slow good comeback, same as Tikoy did.

Our Tikoy is using up his 9 lives indeed. A real fighter! Keep us posted how it goes. Crossing Fingers!

Lily and I did a long walk this afternoon. Bright and sunny as we started out but sun dissapeared as soon as we got going. Still we managed a long 4 mile walk which took almost 2 1/2 hours. Guess we didn't go too fast.

Anna....glad to near that Larkin is just having growing pains. I was thinking about you & him and hoping for the best!
Had Sparky at the vet again this morning. A week ago he was a healthy, happy cat...he fell ill fast. He'll be 14 years old this Spring...I know that's mature, but not really old. Most of our cats have lived to be 16, 17 almost 18 years. We thought we had a few more years left with him. Anyway, it's tumors & vet said at his age treatment was not recommended. They did some things to make him more comfortable & some pain pills. He's not really in pain that we can tell..just uncomfortable. He seems happy to be back home..hubby and I are just trying to deal with this the best we can.
Thank you for all your well wishes & support. Lovey dubby
